Im creating this thread to keep track on the progress on the car aka money pit
Picked this up on April 12,2015 2008 BMW 135i Cashmere Silver 6MT, M sport package 100k km / 62k mi April 12, 2015 June 6,2015 Current Mods: - Cobb AP (Stage 1) - Berk Race exhaust - ACT performance clutch (rated for 456 ft/lbs - pretty stiff.lol) - AFE Intake - BMS oil catch can - BMS clutch stop - Meganracing Euro street coilover - BMW performance Kidney grille, mirror, spoiler, pedals - Lux angel eyes - Custom splitters (front and side) - Rieger rear diffuser - Blackline LCI tails Future mods (winter project) - 1M front end conversion - Rear fender flare (n5) - wider wheels ofcourse - Downpipes - Intercooler Last edited by jackp0t; 12-08-2015 at 11:07 PM.. |

Went ahead and started my first diy on the 135
Prior to getting started i had no clue on the majority of the components I recognized the alternator, turbos and intake thats it .lol The dealer wanted 1k to fix the problem w/ the parts only costing 30$. No thanks bmw Thank you 1addicts.com! N54 Oil Filter Housing gasket replacement DIY 3 hours later Had to pull the Intake manifold to access one of the bolt holding the oil filter housing. why bmw WHY Opted to stop and just clean the motor from oil residue to be continued.. On the plus side I know most of the stuff in the bay now:toot: Finally was able to finish the 135 today after catching the flu on monday then a fever after 2 days (what a shitty start on my week haha) sorry for the blurry pic i guess im still recuperating.lol After doing the the Oil filter housing gasket I went ahead and replaced the oil cooler gasket First fuck up on the car ripped a vacuum hose luckily i had alot of spare parts (im a hoarder that way.lol) This time around putting it back is a breeze :notbad: First time air bleeding coolant w/ an electrical waterpump SUCCESS! Then i realized the last owner didn't put oil on the air filter so i went ahead and did that started de-chroming the car While waiting for the filter to dry i looked up the spark plug interval and its suppose to be at 47k miles so i said what the hell close enough. I caught break on this one dealer wanted 25 a pop per spark plugs luckily lordco carry the OEM plugs and i got a sweet discount on it :fuckyea: And of course it needs a special spark plug socket tool :rukidding: Ideally you would wanna do compression test before you buy the car to see if the motor is healthy but it didnt allow me at that time of the sale and i took a gamble! and the results are.... A consistent 170 psi! now i can say it was a good buy .lol I was very nervous when i was doing the test because of my experience with the nsx. Out of 4 nsx(S) that i saw 3 of them had a bad compression test :heckno: Usually after doing and finishing the job i hate putting it back together but today was an exception i was still riding high on the good compression result .haha With maintenance out of the way time to mod!! |

The fun DIY (as i call it) begins :fullofwin: Got the splitters from fmxomar started with the easiest lol re-badge Failed on the spoiler didnt fully bond needs a redo started with the sides the front results for extra support i feel the need of adding splitters rods playing around with the placement Im pretty happy with the results! |

Finally got to do the coilover job on the e82 it took me forever (roughly 6-7 hours) mainly because of stupid mishaps :fuuuuu:
mishap #1 [spoiler] The coils i bought from offwithYOhead was a used item with only 7k miles but unfortunately the thread were damage on the rear shocks lower mount (cross threaded) Talk to the seller got a partial refund to order the damage parts But its backordered so i went ahead and re-tap the thread [/spoiler] mishap #2 [spoiler] Washer missing on the rear coils luckily i hoard some parts lol hole modified [/spoiler] Can finally start lol Started in the rear it was easy only have to remove 2 bolts underneath and one nut at the top The part i hated to do was removing the trunk trim Made a hole so i dont have to the remove the trim for next time and also easy access when i want to adjust stiffness on the shocks Of to the front I was taught that when working on something new and unfamiliar (suspension/brakes) always work and finish the one side first before starting on the other side. That way you can copy and compare that you did it properly . That lesson served me well in this situation being as there were so many sensors on this car! The front had more steps but it was manageable mishap #3 [spoiler] Needed a special tool to spread the knuckle to access the shock I couldnt wait one week and let the car hang loose on the jack stands so i just made my own :toot: [/spoiler] ALL done! Opted to adjust the height added some anti sieze on the threads NOW adjusting the rear really tested my patience big time lmao It was so tight that i couldnt adjust the height So i removed the big bolt on the lower control arm and the nut at the top( good thing i made that hole lol ) to have some slack . Only had the left rear to do at this point and i thought it was gonna be smooth sailing WRONG... mishap #4 the very last and the worst [spoiler] While removing the nut at the top of the shock tower it somehow fell in to a hell hole! the 17mm nut , big ass washer , and the 17mm socket is now stuck on the wheel well with only that small access hole :rukidding: why bmw WHY I was able to fish out the nut and socket via a magnet but the washer is bigger than the access hole. Only way out is through the top which the magnet couldn't handle. I was finally able to pull it out via steel wire after patient was the key! but that was a brutal 2-3 hours not fun at all.hah [/spoiler] And this would never be complete with out some battle scar .lol [spoiler][/spoiler] Even with all the mishaps the finish product was worth it. Im very happy with the results! |

Raised the height on the front
Had to stack two by four's together (ghetto styles.lol) to access the jack point in the middle Anti sieze worked well coil perch turn smoothly Fun mod :fullofwin: Didnt understand the german instruction and was left with 3 scews i couldnt figure out where to put :lawl: Very happy on how they look now just waiting for the LCI tails to complete it! |

Sourced a legit black kidney grille's
Like with anything 2nd time around was a breeze no need for diy. haha before dipped oem after bmw performance Installed a subtle spoiler for now. I notice the clutch in the bmw is so deep and the engagement is up high but thanks to BMS/Burgertuning for creating a solution Clutch stop they call it oem vs bms I couldn't believe this small thing could make the drive even better! It definitely help me get used to the stiff racing clutch on this car. Hopefully no more stalling:lawl: and playing around with the cobb tune testing out linear throttle and stock throttle |

With my knowledge with this car being only less 2 months old thanks to this forum im ever so learning everyday! Thanks 1addicts!
The car is a direct injection which can lead to carbon build up in the intake valves. I plan to do the walnut blasting but i wanted to enjoy the summer first before i take it apart! So I picked up a BMS OCC to possible stop/reduce the carbon build up Plastic pile Plastic cover has to be modified Catch can is stealthy! Added wheel spacers 15mm front 10mm rear Almost ready for Car insurance |

Saw the bov mod at the DIY section and i said why the hell not.lol
Itll do for now! Inside the car i can barely hear it since i have the berk race exhaust its just perfect not to annoying.haha Since i removed the cowl i mine aswell check the OCC to see if theres any blow by After 500km its squeaky clean |

It looks like i came in the right time when i picked up a 1 series
Im currently waiting on project jayden for more info on the fenders before i pull the trigger! Depending on how the reliability of the mechanical side of things . IF theres no major problems that will occur I will start the wide fender mod this winter together with the 1M bumper and fender With that plan in mind it would be pointless to buyaftermarket wheels now to fit on the stock fenders So i went ahead and plasti dip the Msport wheels in anthracite grey |

Can I ask where you got the side skirt extensions from and the price? The only ones I find are for the 1M.
