Engine swap with OEM key/harness

So kinda of a basic question, lets say for example LS swap into a n54 vehicle. Obviously the LS needs its own PCM/TCM, understandable.

But....could you use the original electrical to splice into to start it? So still use the push button. Basically, do you need the DME to control windows, locks, and radio? Would want BMW functions still.

Starter cable isn't hard, but technically speaking you could splice somewhere to use OE functions?
