The mirrors look great.

What's your opinion on the enhanced field of view from your new mirrors? Worth the switch from the standard ones?

Auto-dimming.....shine a light on it at night and see if it dulls the light.

Heated....these melt snow off very quickly. You can also take it off and look at the back. The heated mirrors have an electric element in the back. Looks like thin metal strips running along the back of it.

Auto dimming has a bronze tint to the mirror.

Anyone got any links or part numbers to euro wide angle lens that will fit auto dimming mirrors? or is there an adapter to make at least heater work? I ordered a set off ebay and they have a two prong connector and my car has 4.

I'm tempted to just leave everything disconnected and apply a good coat of rain-x on the mirror. I don't care at all for autodimming, but here in florida it gets so foggy that I'd hate to leave that function not working

The blue heated mirror glass isn't so expensive... I think I paid 85 euros per side for mine. But for the cars that have self dimming mirrors... those can be quite pricy... I want to say 400ish per side.

You can use RealOEM.com to look up the part numbers... just be sure to search for a 125i instead of a 128i... (otherwise you will get USA parts!)

Maybe try contacting Schmiedmann.com or Leebmann24.de for the euro parts.

Anyone have the pin outs for the auto dimming?

I wanted to see If I could wire up the 2 pin (Euro spec, non dimming) to the oem 4 pin connector to maintain the defrost feature?

Anyone have the a pin out diagram? or experience?

I would just pull off a mirror and use a Volt meter(VOM) to check for power when the rear defroster is on. Seems pretty simple way to determine whoch pins are which.

You saw my pics in my DIY thread...

+1 interested in this as well.

I'm even not set on keeping the heated feature. Does anyone know if it will throw a code if I don't hook up the mirror glass at all?

FWIW I purchased "stick on" mirror overlays over a year ago. No longer dim (don't miss windows tinted) nor heat (live in Texas)...

Took all of 3 minutes to "install"

Works/looks GREAT-CLEAR Again!

Liked them so much, I did my daughters 1-series too... Purchased off Amazon. like $18 each side, free shipping...

Perfect low cost and effective option for me...
