Hate how we only have 91 here. I know where there is an e85 station but, I don't feel comfortable throwing that in without upgrading the lpfp

91 here in AZ. Also interested in MHD but only if it runs on straight 91 without e85 mixed in.

What are you worried about? You should be able to run e50 on the stock turbo/stock lpfp without issue.

There will be OTS maps available for all fuel requirements. I'll have custom tunes also. So far, testing has been good on my 135 MSport DCT. I'm so impressed with how quick the car shifts.

Do you offer remote custom tuning? Or do we have to be local?

I think the N55 will move much quicker. As you can see from this log, things are already looking really good.

Im thinking about ordering the pure stage 2 for my fbo 135 dct... is it ok to run it for now jb4 only? Or do I need to wait until MHD is released? I don't want to waste money on a soon-to-be obsolete access port

You could do it but you won't be able to push the turbo. If you start pushing the pure stage 2 with Jb4 only your dct will start to slip. You will need a bef so the transmission will see higher load and increase clamping force.

Yea I got that part of it with the dct, I'm ok with running low boost until I can load a flash... but the car will run ok? I don't want to make the car less drivable

Would run fine with a JB4. My buddy is running pure stage 2, ppk, chargepipe, jb4, everything else stock and his car runs great on 91 or e40ish. He just runs map 6, and slowly builds boost to about 17psi at redline. The main thing is to control mid range boost because the dct may slip from the torque.

DCT slip is the biggest reason to dump the JB4 and quick... DCT cars rely on accurate information from the ECU with regard to load to torque output. If the car assumes it's only making the same load the transmission doesn't account for the added power... This is bad.. Real bad. But yet people still use the JB4.

I know that MT guys like the JB4 because it doesn't matter, but for DCT and AT guys, running the JB4 without a proper tune is a big NO-GO... Clutch slip is real and very costly.

I have a DCT and couldn't be happier with the power and how the transmission is shifting.

At this time all of the tunes that come from me will be custom tunes. But... I'm tuning my car which is a DCT so I know first hand how the DCT is working. Having the car is a big advantage because I don't need to rely on customer feedback on how the transmission is reacting. Not as critical for MT/AT cars. It was a big issue with tuning DCT cars using COBB in the past.

Damn am I glad I logged on tonight. Haven't been on in a while and this seriously made my day - I never did like the way the JB4 affected my car and ended up taking it out.

Would a custom flash potentially address some of the throttle delay issues that people report?

I'm not seeing much of a delay, but I have only had my car for a few weeks so a bit new to the N55. But the car is a blast. I have a newfound respect for the car.

Your throttle delay will be fixed either with the proper SIB flash BMW sent out to resolve this or a PPK flash. There is a vendor on here who does both. Most likely anything 2012 and newer has had the SIB flash to not experience throttle delays anymore if it was serviced at a BMW dealership at some point after its release
