Abnormal tire wear

Here's a pic of my front left tire:


And here's my front right tire:


On both tires, the sides are worn out much more than the center of the tire. Does this indicate that the tires are under-inflated? I try to maintain the recommended 39 psi.

The left tire looks really weird: Notice the much more worn inner side! At the corner, it is so worn out that you can see the white cord (arrow).

SA thinks this is due to mis-alignment. Do you agree? What's the best way to fix this?

First of, this is the 1M section of the Forum, so overall tire experience here might not be the best for you. If your car is a 135i convertible which is in your sig, all I can say is I am surprised to hear that "recommended tire pressure is 39 psi" for a 135i, sounds really high to me. For a 1M, factory recommendation is 33/34 front and 31/32 rear (unloaded car).
