Looking for someone to install my 3 stage intake manifold on E90 - eastern PA
Cross-posting this from E90post since the 3 stage intake is also a common mod on 128's...
I am looking for someone in or around eastern Pennsylvania to install my 3 stage intake manifold on my 2008 328xi 6AT. I purchased the 3IM kit new from Tischer BMW thinking that I would have my local indy shop install it, but they quoted around $450 for labor which I thought was a bit high. I would install it myself but I don't have the space or tools to do so, and I'm a DIY novice so I'd be more comfortable with someone more experienced than me doing the installation. Therefore, before I resort to the indy installation I thought I'd see if anyone here was interested in meeting up sometime to install this. I would provide all the parts, my two helping hands, beer, and $250 for you to install this on my car. I am located in the Lehigh Valley (Pennsylvania) but am willing to drive up to an hour in any direction to meet up. PM me if you're interested or have questions! I'm negotiable on price and distance I'd be willing to drive to meet up. |

Hey man. Im right in the middle of pa. Would open my garage and tools to you. In sure it can't be that hard. Never done it but I've done everything in my signature myself in the same garage. Recently updated to air tools. Woohoo! Haha. No lift but Jack and stands. Plus there's 2 other 1ers that would probably come over and help/hang out. Let me know if you want to.

Yeah. There's 3 of us out here in the middle of no where. Haha. We are always offering for people to come out for any work needing done. We're here to help. Specially if it's something we've already done to our cars. Offers always open! Just let me know!

Haven't had the opportunity to use them yet, but they offered great advice when I purchased an E60, but consider
JCL Automotive in Hellertown, they are a bmrs.org member

I'm kinda close, but have no experience with this install, maybe we can find a few people to get together and make a day out of it.

Thanks for all of the replies, this thread got a lot more attention here than on E90post
Right now it doesn't look like I'll have time to meet up to install this until at least Memorial Day weekend, but I'll bump this thread around then to see who's still interested. And funny that you guys mention JCL, I often take my car there for service but didn't think to ask them about this since they seem like they do more "traditional" repairs/maintenance. If all else fails I may ask Chris if they could do this retrofit but it would be more fun to meet up with some fellow forum members |

Most garages are OK with adding upgrades, as long as it's the same fitment as a factory part.
When you have to start "fitting" something that's when you eat up a lot of their time and profit. |
