I went in last week for the CV joint / driveshaft recall, and when I arrived for the appointment, the dealer indicated that they had the part for the airbag recall as well so that was also done!
I am in the GTA.

I had no idea there was a CV joint recall, gotta add that to the airbag - car is in storage until after winter so I will get them done then...
Is there a number I should reference for the CV recall? Thank you |

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1398018 I believe it only affected 2011+ or 2012+ models. Check mybmw.ca to see if it is listed for your car. I also received a letter last year on this one.

I had a few things looked at before my warranty is up next week. I never got the follow up letter but they had the new airbag in stock and I got mine yesterday at Parkview in Toronto. Great service expirenece.

Thank you, i checked online on mybmw.ca and there is no notice, still just the airbag notice. That being said they may have done it when my motore was repalced. Either way I will inquire with them.

nope, I doubt it... they would have told you.
I would ring them up, especially, if you use the dealer a lot (I do) (as I found out above) |

For those of you who got the airbags replaced, do you guys have now have two holes one on each side of the steering wheel?
The hole is used to push on the spring to release the airbag. |

holes are always there but if airbag was never taken out the holes are sealed.
You have to pop the cherry to remove the airbag... I was wondering if BMW uses special tool to not use the hole. |

I've taken bag off and based on how it connects I don't believe there is another way. The holes are really not noticeable. I think mine closed up all the way.

Emailed BMW customer service and complained about the two year wait since the initial notice and that I had not received another notice that "parts are ready". They emailed me back saying that parts are available and to call my local dealership. Called the dealership and had it done the next week.
The holes are hardly noticeable even if you look behind the wheel. But you do get a brand new steering wheel emblem |

The BMW Store called me last week to book an appointment for the AirBag recall.
Went in today and it was completed 90mins after dropping it off early in the morning. |

Montreal area.
All the dealers here are receiving a steady supply of airbags weekly. I just got the letter from BMW telling me the parts where available, but hey, it's already done Regarding the hole to insert the airbag release key, they will even out with time, but they are always pre-cut on all cars. With the airbag you get a nice new shiny bmw logo, kinda nice if yours was scratched.

I have an appt. this coming Monday to have mine replaced. Wonder if they will notice that I changed my Sport wheel to an M-Sport wheel. Still have the Sport trim and it kinda doesn't fully fit flush on the bottom edges. Barely noticeable unless you run your fingers against it.
