While logic would dictate that you are correct, the 1-Series info and literature that BMW has put out thusfar is so rife with error that you really cannot rely on anything.

After seeing the latest Autospies photos, I still believe that we haven't seen the sport seats yet. In this picture is a car with no sport package (chrome line and non-M wheel), yet it has the exact same seat that we've seen on every other 1-series so far...

That model of Recaro comes with a hydraulic actuated robot arm that snatches your coffee and pours it on your crouch.

Those are the Sportster CS (with custom upholstery for BMW) available here:

What you see there is the sport seat. The non-sport seat is the less bolstered and doesn't have the extending thigh support. I've scoured for pics of the non-sport seats, but apparently BMW prefers to display and photograph all of its cars with sport seats.

IIRC, the sport seats will be a stand-alone option for around $400. We will get only leatherette or leather upholstery, at least in the regular 135i. Rumor is the leather/cloth combo is being reverved for the 135tii.

I'd be surprised if the Recaros make production though. They're the same seat that are offered in Europe on the GTI/R32 and RS4. They don't come to the US in those cars because they weren't designed for the occupant detection system now required for airbag systems, and Recaro said it would be too costly to redesign them to comply for such limited production runs. BMW will end up in the same boat. Sorry.:iono:

From jobes spy shots in Canada; here is a 135i with Sport package. This means //M steering wheel, sport seats, and shadowline trim, all visible in this picture:

To my eyes, those "sport seats" don't look very supportive in high-g situations. The Recaro's in the tii concept on the other hand, look like they support lateral forces better!
