My dyno vid. The heart breaker Mustang dyno calculated 414WHP and 460 WTQ. Guy said to add 15% to get Dynojet numbers which is 476WHP and 529WTQ. Density altitude was also 5800 ft that day! I was not expecting any HUGE power gains from the stage one upgrade put I think 470WHP is pretty damn good for the altitude i'm at and if anyone is curious about the turbo install, it took me 15 straight hours putting those suckers in. Big PITA but worth the knuckle busters.
HUGE THANKS to Terry Burger and Tony Vargas. Both of these guys have given me unbeatable customer service the past few weeks. Great experience working with both of you and I highly recommend them. Mods are as follows: - 08 135i N54 - Vargas Stage 1 Turbos with Billet wheels - BMS Intake, BMS Charge pipe,AR DPs, Stock mids, berk race muffler delete - JB4 G5 Map 3 75 Meth Additive with RACE DME flash - MS-109 and 100% meth injection (Single CM12 nozzle) Your not supposed to get big power gains from just the stage 1 but I'm pretty impressed with how the turbos performed. Vargas Stage 2s are just like RBs and I didn't have the extra 1K in my pocket for them. Main reason why I got the turbos anyway was because of that annoying WG rattle and I figured why not get stage ones for a little more power and according to vargas, the GTX design billet wheels flow 20% more air which is definitely needed for the altitude I'm at. I think 470whp is pretty damn good for being a mile in the sky.

who and what made you goto a mustang dyno? Not sure why people goto these dynos... everyone on e90post/1addicts use dynojets as a standard.
unfortunately we must find another mustang dyno to compare your numbers with... |

Great numbers. I also go to a Dynojet from a guy close to me here too. I thought you take away 15% on the dyno to get the actual numbers unless there is something i'm missing. Always trying to learn more and more. Congrats on the numbers though.
They have AWD Superflow dyno's here in Germany but some are a decent distance away and the closest one to me is operated by a dickhead that acts like Ford Mustangs are the ultimate vehicle.

I thought mustang and Dyno Dynamics were better for actual tuning as they put load on the engine.

Even with the same dyno type, you cant compare numbers. Dyno numbers are a tuning tool. A "before" dyno graph on the same dyno wouldve been cool to compare it too but oh well. now take it to the track and see what it runs! Dyno queens are boring

interesting data bro, thanks for posting it. I am impressed to say the least at their ability to hold 17.5ish psi all the way to redline. That makes these slightly worse than their stage 2s but for a lot less money. Enjoy!

15% is way high. Try 5-7%

Thats awesome! Don't know why everyone on this site thinks they should add percentages for mustang dynos. A mustang dyno gives a reading thats just about as close to actual wheel horsepower that a dyno can give. A dynojet tries to give crank horsepower and falls short of that. In other words it won't give you an accurate power figure (as far as I understand).

Mustang and dyno dynamics dynos are know to ready lower than dynojet (see my sig for same day dyno diff between DD and DJ). As such, because most everyone here does runs on dynojet, people are trying to get a somewhat apples to apples comparison - even though it really isn't possible. Dynojet gives a whp numbers. They measure differently and ,as such, come up with higher numbers. Dynos are really supposed to be used as a tuning tool. As such it really doesn't matter what number they output as long as they do it consistently. But of course, we all like to brag about our numbers - even though the real tell is in your trap speed. I am curious, do you have any before numbers? Am wondering how you concluded it was a HUGE power gain with the stage 1'ers. |

Yes you did.
But then you went on in the same sentence to state how you thought 470whp was damn good. Reads to me, that while you were not expecting huge gains, you got them. Regardless, question still stands: Huge gains or not, do you have any before numbers so you know what these turbos did for you power wise? |
