JB4 issues (no boost )
so ill start with some history
the car has been din an stage 2 for its entire life. 4 weeks ago, i upgraded to jb3, and the car ran like a dream! loved the power. then last week i ordered the jb4, i installed it properly, and the steering wheel controls worked perfectly. but however the car did not boost at all. i thought it was pretty weird, so i took the jb4 out and the car ran perfectly on the dinan tuned ecu. i then got a CEL for waste gate actuator( 30CF) but the jb4 wasn't on the car ( but the car ran perfectly normal and boosted normally) then last nite i tried the jb4 again in the car, and the same issues as before. the steering wheel controls all worked fine, but NO boost at all( and yes i let the car warm up) so i took it out once again and it was perfectly fine without the jb4. has anyone had any sort of the same issues?? i really would like my jb4 to work, before i put in my downpipes. but i think that the issue is the jb4, since the jb3 worked fine and without the jb4, the car ran perfectly fine. the only time the car ran poorly was with jb4....... any help?? im not really too sure on what i can do as of now.

im assuming that you know how to change maps since you say "the steering wheel control works" but what map were you in?
did you get a engine power loss light, or you just "felt" no boost? or do you have a boost gauge? |

Did you buy the JB4 used? If so, maybe the previous owner had it set to map 8 (no turbos). Like JYohay asked, how do you know there was no boost? Did you turn the boost on fuel or temp on via the jb4?
Try change the maps around. http://www.n54tech.com/forums/attach...1&d=1331422354 I would also head over to n54tech.com and ask there. I sure Terry will respond directly. We'll have to get together once you get your dp's on. I'd like to see the difference they make. |

i was always in map 5
and i bought the upgrade from n54tuning new. i had the boost on fuel, and it never left 0, and the car was slow as hell i emailed terry, with photos of my harness to see if it was possibly a wiring issue. But i don't think i would be able to use the steering wheel controls if the wiring was incorrect. but i do feel like it is software related, since the jb3 worked 100% perfectly, and i could boost normally when i took off the jb4 and i dont have the USB to data log the car

Do you have a way to data log your car, then you wiill know exactly what is going on, I use Dashcommand and my iPad with a cable connected to the obd2 port, and there are other options, just a suggestion.

if i blew off a charge pipe, the car wouldn't run very well without it, and its fine without the jb4.
I'm going to buy a usb cord today.

I'm having the same issues, what you mean by "cross the wastegate wires together on the harness"?

Having the same issues 5-7 years later
hey all I know this thread has been dead for a while but hoping one of you guys would be able to help me out. I am having the same issues with no boost on my n54 335. My assumption is wastegates are stuck open due to the JB4.
what does it mean to cross the wastegate wires. I don't want to try the wrong thing and accidentally mess it up. |
