Very good. Valencia Orange was chosen because of the uniqueness and individuality aspects of the color. Monte Carlo Blue was considered as were some other past M hues that would reflect the vibrant energy of the 1M.

In all fairness I reckon there must have been about 30 requests for Individual 1M's which were turned down because it would not be cost effective for BMW to accomodate on the Leipzig production line.

Except one , which was done via M @ Garching.

Uniqueness and individuality aspects of Valencia Orange are all gone when it appeared on new 1-series. So much for that.

Valencia Orange was initially supposed to be a test mule color only.

"Why Valencia Orange?
Ironically, the 1M was first presented to Dr. Segler (CEO of BMW M GmbH) in Valencia Orange and it was so good that the color made it to the production model. As a fun fact, we observed Dr. Segler was wearing a new Rolex Milgauss which had a black dial with orange second hand and dash marks. True love for the color scheme…"

(source: http://www.bmwblog.com/2011/01/21/bm...-need-to-know/)

During the 2011 NA International Auto Show Dr. Segler disclosed that VO is his favorite 1M color ("It's on offer in three colors but definitely this is the color you'll have to order: it's Valencia Orange").

Still though, it would have been quite a statement if BMW would have presented the 1M in the three colors of the ///M logo.

Yes. But depending on whether you are in the US? You will not have that option. Europe , on the other hand....

Has anyone in the US had a car wrapped? Any car? Is this price accurate? Direct exchange rates are not always a good reflection on the costs of things from country to country.

Looks like some fancy blue painters tape when it's half done!

Such a good job, really looks like paint. Did they do inside the doors as well?

I'm gonna guess Oracal 970RA. Not that I've done any research.

That is singlehandedly the most amazing application of a vinyl wrap I have ever seen.

What color was that one exception done in, and any pics? Also, why did they choose to do that one particular car, but none of the other requests?

SCOTT26 : Thanks on that and a pleasure to have you comment in the thread.. the one in Garching was the one in Sepang Bronze ?

Marwol : Check out Cracka's link.. they indeed use oracle type of vynil .. (good find cracka )..

As for any body asking about the door sills and engine bay, yes they have NOT been covered..when you open the door the inner hinges are still in VO. and so is the engine bay .
