It's been known for a while now that there will be no Z4M based on the current Z4.

I think it might be to early to tell, with them just running a slightly modded 135 body...

Will be an awesome car for the city. The current M3 is a bit too big for the city. I think this car should do well with sales if they release it. They never brought the 135i to Taiwan but I have a feeling that if they offer it with the new 7 speed DCT (most asians don't like manual transmissions) then the agent here in Taiwan may decide to import it.

There is a different roof for sure... Maybe it s masked with a vinyl... So, it seems it will have a CF roof!

I would be surprised if it does not have a CF roof...

Love the idea of a smaller ///M car, but I need the functionality of a sedan.

Or a hatch/wagon.

The possibilities for making a rude comment seem endless here but I will just let it slide!

I think the chance for a carbon fiber roof at this point is 50/50. If you look at the spyshots posted at the beginning of this thread, you see that from the front that there is a contrast in the color of the roof from the Sedona red body color but from the rear you can see that the antenna and the roof are the same color. Also, from the second almost profile shot at the beginning of this thread, you can see the clear roof crease where there is a delineation between the two colors/body materials.

I took a look at the original thread of it outside Munich and the same thing can be seen in those shots. It would seem odd at this point to make only half the roof from carbon fiber.

And for my two cents, add the tii badge onto the newest addition to the M family. This will make it unique and give BMW a new marketing perspective that can continue from the Year1 campaign in 2008 when it was introduced.

That earlier car had the third brake light on the trunk lid though, the latest photos don't appear to have that. (could be same car with a different boot lid, but...)

Both the licence plate and the TUV plate match, hence it's most certainly the same car. The quality of these pictures isn't that good, so it's hard to say whether the brake light is masked or a different boot lid is used.

Best regards,
south

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited about this car. To those talking about exterior features, don't get hung up on the little details just yet. This is a test mule, and an early one at that... they won't have all of the design elements incorporated like side grilles, spoilers, etc. I'm sure we'll see more mules as time goes by that have more production parts, but they will likely be covered by the swirly camo.

It might be a glass roof... Hard to say, but if that isn't vinyl, then that is where the glass stops front, and rear!

Does a Wider Track , Unique M : mDrive differential , and 345 PS Sound enticing?
