They just stopped taking orders worldwide. One and officially done. And there will not be a direct successor.

I spoke to the M-Brand manager at our recent NUJ BMW Club meet at the BMW VDC here in Port Jersey and he told me production stopped in October.
BTW there was one sitting there at the VDC going through prep, but it did not look new... maybe an executive car?

CAs don't know jack
Looks like the information reported by CAs that orders could be taken through May was erroneous.

The German website still keeps the 1M in the configurator though, it is usually a very definitive sign of cars dropping from production. I am keeping an eye on that one. |

A German newspaper also just reported that production has stopped. But they also say, that over 6000 have been built and sold world wide - 1000 for Germany. Seems a bit steep to me considering the more or less accurate figures which where posted for the different countries...
Canada 250 USA 740 GB 450 France 100 Australia 170 China 200 South Africa 71 Indonesia 40 Turkey 3 Brazil 25 Chile 15 Poland 8 Germany 1000 Equals 3072... still a few left up to "over 6000".... Where are they? Russia ;-))? |

I highly doubt that adds up to nearly 3,000 units.

In Africa, 90 % of the continent to say the least probably didn't even have a single quota, cause most of them don't have a BMW network. Whatever South Africa got must be a minimum of 50 % of whole Africa. I also doubt that 6000 figure, unless Asian countries got more allocations during 2012. That would make it probable then. |
