Is it normal for it to take 80 minutes to backup the ECU?

I also can't turn the angel eyes off. It doesn't matter if they're in the auto, off or on position. If the ignition is on, the angel eyes are on. Has me a bit worried.

Ok. I'm less worried now. It appears this is normal. I must just have really old software. I know it has never been updated to address the waste gate rattle.

On another note. Is 11.73 volts sufficient?

I'll leave it on charge overnight and then do the flash in the morning.

At what voltage does the flash stop?

Hmmm alright. I noticed that it didn't drop at all in the 80 odd minutes that it took to backup the stock map. So I think the charger I have is good enough to keep her going for the 40 minutes the flash will take. If all else fails, I'll hook up he Hilux and just keep it running while I do it.

Ok. Just finished flashing it. I'm letting it warm up at the moment and I'll take her for a drive soon.

Marty, I can't thank you enough for all your help and advice. It was my first time doing something like this and knowing the consequences of getting it wrong made it a bit daunting. So, thank you!

it will be in one of the folders

I never used the feature of mhd, I use the jb4 for logging

Connect it to your pc and browse the mhd folders

Is it usual for the MHD to mess with service and oil lights? Before doing the flash, I had recently checked my oil and it said it was on the low side. After doing the flash, the oil level indicator is saying it's at maximum.

I was also 1200 km away from the next service and it's now saying that it's due.

I literally done a few hundred of these flashes and never had any problems like you describing, it could be because your software in your dme was so old before you updated it

Now you are running the latest firmware that's been tricked up

Do your service and keep an eye on it, you might need to update all your systems through a dealer or someone with access to an autologic and update the whole car

The easiest way is someone like willall racing in Adelaide he should be able to help you out

I suggest flashing back to stock, update your entire car including the subsystems

and when you get it back backup your dme and reflash

This is the anal ocd way of doing things, or I call it my way.

like as other people have pointed out you don't have to do things my way but at least
I know my way works 100% every time and if it doesn't you have other underlying issues.

Thanks, Marty. I've contacted MHD via their Facebook page to see what they say about it. I'm not so concerned about the service light but it's a worry that it's saying my oil level is full when it is actually getting low.
