Refurbed fuel injectors - flow rate numbers
So, index 12's are now $1500 a set from FCP Euro (weren't they about $800 just a couple of years ago?).
That said, there's a vendor on eBay selling refurbished index 12 injectors for $495 a set. Does anyone know what process is involved in refurbishing injectors ? Does the process affect the coding numbers making them incorrect meaning that once they are installed there's really no point in coding since the numbers you use will not be accurate to start with ? Anyone have any thoughts on this ?

It's because the energy calibration numbers are outside the specified parameters. |

Yes they have been coded correctly, however, INPA states the parameters that the injectors should be between. The energy rating (top number) on 5 of my 6 injectors exceeds the maximum specified in INPA. The flow rate (bottom number) of all 6 though is acceptable.

I wonder if that has any real significance. I know you said you don't get a check engine light but what code do you get ?

I just found these - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/ASNU...17ec3c00DgyrBV
Yeah, complete stab in the dark if I buy them. I just can't justify paying $1500 for OEM.

Just seems a bit scandalous that index 12's have doubled in price in the last year or so.

As always, every part we sell is guaranteed for life, and comes with a lifetime warranty. To touch base on this and clarify, its a lifetime warranty, not a lifetime exchange program. I've received tons of inquiries as to why we don't just swap parts out. The answer is because no one else does. The lifetime warranty means that for life, we will essentially refund you 100% of the price you originally paid. If pricing changes, theres nothing we can do about that. If the part is NLA (no longer available), there is nothing we can do about that. Furthermore, our warranty clearly states that in order to receive a refund, we must first receive the old part(s) back. Then, and only then you will be refunded in 24-48 business hours. We do not, and will not simply send you new part(s) in hope of receiving your old parts back. A new order doesn't need to be placed to have a warranty claim refunded, but then you wont have any replacement parts to put back in the car (assuming parts are needed). Thank you all, and have a nice day. Now go purchase some injectors if you need them! This is copy pasted from somewhere else. |

Also some people swear by the refurb'd ones and some people say they are trash. I'd rather just have the peace of mind and life time warranty, personally. |

Any clues as to the cheapest VDO or BME injectors? WHere did you find a set for under $1000? I need all 6. I am seeing FCPEuro at $1199 for set of 6 BMW brand, and ECS has a st of 6 VDO brand for $1233. Still A LOT of money.....
