I loooove the rear end of the 1er. One of the best BMW designs since the E30. Clean and german.

I agree that I don't like the Hyundai imitation of it; looks more like something "modern" BMW would do (see 2-series).

nah not really. those don't have many angles...more rounded all around. To me they sharpness of the Hyundai's lights are most like the 1er. Even more than the 2-series.

Up and coming automakers from Korea are making no bones about their willingness to glean bits of design language from the germans. L-shaped tail lamps, LEDs, etc. Albert Biermann formerly of BMW M now works at Kia.
