Imaging program to "test" parts on your car perhaps?
I've been entertaining the idea of putting some performance parts on my 135 for a while, but the catch is that it's cashmere silver. It's pretty much a given that carbon fiber parts look great on a straight up white or black car... but my question is this; Has anyone come across a program or site that allows you to see how a part would look on your car (much like Tirerack.com) prior to purchase?
While I'm on the topic, what's the feel behind carbon fiber wrapping parts? I'm looking at that as an option to replace the burl wood interior since I'm only going for looks. |

i think carbon looks good on silver! and there's a lot of people who have wrapped their interior trim with CF fabric including myself, here's a DIY i made that will help you out if you decide to wrap your trim http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=271638

That is an option, but the end goal is to alter my 1's classy look to something a bit more aggressive. I love the BMW Performance Parts, but I don't love the price. I may break down and get the rear diffuser though because I haven't found an alternative that looks as good.
I figure that swapping the original kidney grills for the black, the rear diffuser, side mirrors and maybe the interior would be good and not overboard. and 808, I was wondering where you went with those pics! |

Very nice! That helps a lot Mr.C! I just got the black kidney grills yesterday, I'm getting the side view mirrors next, I'm trying to choose between carbon fiber caps right now... I've seen a few from AutoCarbon but from the images, they don't look convincing. Anyone have them? Once I get the diffuser, I'll put it all on and take some pics! |
