Is the ESS tune limited by the DME's inability to produce over 1bar of boost?

Our current stage 1 1M software runs 14.5 psi of boost. Stage 2 which can run higher boost levels is currently in development and testing. There are limits to how much boost you can run and have proper drivability and safety margin with the N54. Our goal with tuning is to always have perfect drivability, good power at all RPM's and factory reliability, we take all of this into conideration when developing software.

Nice! I'm excited to see the results. Will you guys be doing any comparison tests, for example, dyno or vbox?

We did a few dyno runs and results were pretty close to what ESS is advertising on their website. The only thing we didn't do correct is we didn't let ECU adapt to the new file.

We basically did 3 stock pulls, tuned right on the dyno, and did 3 tuned pulls. The dyno place didn't have the boost gauge so it was hard to say what boost we were hitting ...

We are getting a few more 1Ms tuned this week so we will try to do a 1M dyno day and see what guys are getting ...

All results will be posted so stay tuned !

it takes a long time to read, not that long to write, but if the battery were to die during the tune there would be big problems and cause damage to the computer system to the car

Once you connect DirectFlash to the car, it will instruct you to connect a battery charger to maintain stabilized power supply.

Ideally you want to have a charger connected during read/write process but it's more crucial to have it during the read process as it takes about 1h.

Aleks.
