an FMIC shouldn't be more than $500 for the tiny 'no cut' kits

$600 odd for the cxracing kit is exactly where it should be.
cxracing is known for having cheap parts that work fine, but dont hold up over time...check out the 240s for example...again cxracing is not quality....

it's actually an intercooler straight from ebay in this case though.

[QUOTE=1911A145;14332770]CXRacing is garbage.

The "No Cut" FMIC's that you say are "tiny", for instance ETS work very well. You cannot even begin to compare the build quality of an ETS intercooler to a cheap ebay unit. You pay for what you get. Sliding in a direct fit part that performs at the top level makes a lot more sense than a non-fitting, thrown together "kit". But if you are on a budget I guess you can only buy what your wallet allows. There are MANY cheap parts out there that are “WORTH” the money, but please, the CXRacing FMIC isn’t one of them.

OP is asking about how to optain 400whp. Why is this turning into a Intercooler fanboi debate. Any IC on the market will get you there....Heck, you don't even need an ic upgrade to hit it. Just avoid back to back multiple runs. Why not get the cheapest one that works? If you guys are so keen on "quality parts", why not recommand a custom titanium full exhaust. OP did mention $ is not the object. Point is, if your only goal is 400whp, it is rather easy to achieve. Tune +dp + meth and or e85 will get you there depending on the dyno.

I have the CXRacing intercooler kit installed and did a review on it with logs before an after. Seems to me like its quality materials. Doesn't look like a "hack job". The only thing you can see is through the grate in the bumper and under the hood is the massive pipe going to the charge pipe. I had problems with the lack of knowledge of the company (you can read it in my review if you want). But for $550 installed. I couldn't pass it up.
