Really debating on going big turbo help please

Hey guys at my local performance shop, Im there almost everyday, i'm really good friends with the owner said they can manufacture a custom precision turbo kit for my car. Money isnt the issue and i trust these guys with my life they are very good at what they do, ive seen them build custom turbos for plenty of cars. Now my main question is with a 60mm turbo i want to make about 500whp, what will need to be done to this car to handle that? Im new to this n54 and have the money thats not the problem but i know ill spend alot less going custom with nice work then buying these ridiculous $7k kits online

Will the stock internals be able to take that beating? im def trying to be past 450 rwhp, now im thinking that will not be possible with these little 2 snails of turbos we got. I had a srt4 with a hx35 holset 60mm turbo i know its completely different but i did that all myself and want that serious power, plus i want everyone to know how us 1ers get down

or is this all a stupid idea and waste of money and will i be able to achieve some serious powers with these little things?

Stock internals are holding 700+whp right now, don't worry about it.

Why not just go with RB's or Vargas stage 2? That will get you right around 500whp, they are proven (at least RB is), and will only set you back about $2600 (plus install).

I'd be hesitant to getting a custom turbo. I suspect the reason no one (that I have heard of) has done it, is that is it isn't that simple. Head over to e90post and ask around.

Since you are one of the few with this issue-less money fund. Buy the Vargas stage 3 turbos and make 800+ HP GG.

Aren't you the guy who said he had about 5K in the bank and no job? Not to sound like a parental figure or all around party pooper, but you may want to slow down and save some of that money for when you really need it...

If you are set on spending on new turbos, I'd definitely not go with a custom job unless you have somewhat 'unlimited' funds to deal with the issues that will likely come up.

Also, why not wait and see what you think once you are full bolt on. I just got my ptf tune finished and traction in first and second is certainly a problem. and I am at about 3600 feet, not sea level like yourself.

If you keep going, hp wise, make sure you are ready to spend some money helping out with traction.

Yea i actually just sold two of my vehicles that i had purchased and was waiting to sell. So a lot more money came in, i bought two 06 frontiers from the auction about a 3 weeks ago for $9.5k and just literally sold them both this week and made about 4.5k in profit so thats why i say i now have 6k to put in this car.
I am that guy however, just more money came in plus i will be going to the auction to buy 2 more cars thursday, probably wont make a purchase if i dont find something that will sell quick but still. So i'm not really worried about the problems. I have no bills I'm 21 and still live with my parents. and you can criticize me all you want for that because i'm living with them till i finish fire academy and paramedic school which i have about 1 year left in total

And once i finish i plan on using about $15k for a nice down payment on a condo, just so you guys dont think im stupid or spending all my money on my car, i have this limit for a reason. Im smart with my money thats why im 21 and own a 135i, mommy and daddy started me off with an 04 mustang gt 2 years ago and now im in this without their help at all, now i have been through about 6 cars never the less but i always come on top with my purchases but this 1 right here is my baby

Ya the intake and muffler delete basically give you about 1.7whp, so as you say, you are really still stock performance wise. Things will wake up a lot with jb4 and dp. living where you do, IC should be next on your list.

My suggestion - RBs or Vargas Stage 2 - Do the Vargas HPFP upgrade, LPFP upgrade, get a good meth kit, Cobb flash + JB4 and get an e85 mix going. Between all this and the install.. should put you right around 6k and you will have a crazy reliable and strong car... and you will be at ~500hp if not more.

yea im doing alot of research on the rb's ppl are getting good numbers, im just trying to decide if that extra 4k in money is really worth that extra 100hp ill get

if i go bigger turbo route ill be at lets say 450-500whp just throwing a number out there, now if i do full bolt ons and a real good tune and meth and race gas i can probably achieve close to the numbers somewhat for a cheaper price, but will be maxing the shit out of these little turbos

My friend has an 07 shelby making 545rwhp and is done modding it for now, i want to beat that thing lol thats my motivation right there he stays talking shit about my "slow" bmw. His car is a boat and never ever ever catches traction to save his life, i feel like with 400 rwhp i can take him

Just throwing this in here since all you big power n54 owners are here, you guys know what you can beat. And yea I'm talking about at the track thats where we only race

doubt you are going to take a 545whp mustang with a 400whp 135i. 135i isn't that much lighter.

Unless he literally never has traction.

If you want bigger turbos get the 7" intercooler. I have the vrsf 7" and install wasnt that bad. Hardest part was the cutting but it fit really well after that. Took me about 3hrs to install.
