New 1-Series Convertible Module

Hi everyone,

The guys from mods4cars need a 1-Series vert to finalize testing of their convertible module.

It will basically have the same features as this one: http://www.aftermarketbulbsshop.com/...64-p/ste64.htm, which I have in my 645CiC.

First member to volunteer their ride will of course get the module and installation for free. Preferrable location would be SoCal.

Thx!

Correction, they _have_ to be in SoCal. Or get the car there. I know. I'd be their guinea pig in a heartbeat, I want the module so damned much.

I'll sweeten the deal. I'll send the person who offers up their vert for final testing a box of chocolate (I'd send beer, but I think mailing alcohol is verboten). How about homemade cookies? Some salmon?

amy!

p.s., it does more than just control the windows on a vert... it lets you put the top up and down standing outside the car!!!

If anyone - do it for amy! She's been very patient through all this.

Free module and install for the taking, vehicle has to be here for testing for 1 day. If we cannot find a volunteer - we'll simply rent one or use one of our dealer contacts.

+1 only the remoteKEY does the windows etc. the 1-Series Vert Module will allow for 1touch operation of the vert roof and to operate with the FOB. Hold the button for 3sec and the operation will complete on it's own open or close

remoteKEY is final, we have one installed on our own 1-series.

smartTOP is what we need to verify.

HA! Hi tom... how are ya buddy?

I was in your shoes not too long ago amy. I really wanted the 6-series vert module but nobody offered one and Tom was able to get me in touch with mods4cars and they used my 6 as a test vehicle. Thx again tom!

Anyway, I didn't know you were on this forum too Tom so I guess you got it all covered

*insert photo of plaintive longing face here*

The kicker is that I'm in LA all the time for work, but they won't let me take my vert as a carryon!

A great module!
I find the "comfort access" option too expensive. If this module is going to cost the same as for the other BMW's, is a really nice price.

Does it get the possibility to fold in the electric mirrors as well? (because if it has, i definitely buy it )

Yes, mirror folding is a feature for those equipped with Premium package.

Okay, we have one left eye, a box of chocolate (or other savory treat), and a free module with install for someone in SoCal willing to be a day-long guinea pig. Anyone?

Can you set it to make the car horn honk when you lock the car? That'd be nice...

It may seem like a decent amount of cabbage, but I really love mine on my Mercedes - it's really a great feature, and I'd do it again in a second.

As far as honking, I believe that that's got to be coded, and the module has no control over it. At least that's how it had to be done for me, and I'd imagine that a BMW would be similar.

Yea it would have been nice if it was a bit cheaper or just apart of the car itself. But IMO def worth it. I like that I can just hold the button for 3 seconds while I walk away from my car and all the windows close. Then when I return same thing to open them. Its way better then having to put the key in the door to close the windows then hold the button constantly till all the windows open.
Just a nice convenience.

Here in Holland we don't have the Premium package.
I ordered the option electric folding mirrors (only possible to fold them in with a button at the doorpanel). But i don't have the "Power front seats with driver seat memory". Is this a nescesary for the option on the Convertible Module to close the mirrors with the remote control?

Possibly, but for those with an alarm - both would be present.

The feature is already present in the module and can be set to Auto/Manual or Off. Those with folding mirrors can take advantage of the option.

I will most likely buy one if I know I can accomplish this. Is there any way you can confirm one way or the other?
