F1 Sepang Qualifying
Situation (back to) normal. Go reds! And yes, the McLarens (both) did impede and very much deserve the grid drop.

What? Deserve the penalty? Hell no...they were way off the racing line. I said to myself while watching it live (ITV) that both McLarens were dead on the racing line and should be punished!

This is qualifying. Any real F1 fan would have seen it live or checked the web as soon as possible. Hell, I heard the qualifying results hours ago over the PA in the local supermarket.

I do have a RSS feed to my phone but I rather see it... And you are right I'm not a die hard fan, I was a huge fan of SpeedVision World Cup but when NASCAR bough The Speed channel things changed and it was hard to get to see it, but I'm learning about F1 |

I watched the F1 qualifying live on speedTV at 2:00 AM this morning. SpeedTV always has the qualifying, Race, and usually a practice or two live. unless its a race one of the big networks wants to pick up. then the race is shown delayed at like 1:00 Sunday afternoon, that always pisses me off. But there is plenty of live viewing in the US

Go Kimi, indeed. Massa sure does like the Malaysian track and evidently the track likes him.

They announce F1 qualifying results in public locations in Europe? That is f'ing amazing. In Canada, JV winning the world championship in 97 just barely made the sports headlines but we can watch hockey 24 hours a day

Will be watching live and hoping the McLarens have race pace and don't watch the Ferrari's romp off into the distance. Their setup did look a bit ragged though in qualifying.

How about ??? Go BMW:roundel:!!! Sorry, I get a little emotional about Formula I and the fact that BMW has a factory team is very cool and deserves any Bimmerphile's support, period, end of discussion...It started when I was a 17 year old in his Austin-Cooper S, double dating (the face of the girl's parents could have made a great picture as they saw their daughter crouching down to get into a tiny Red and Black box with little 10" wheels for a night out) going to see the movie "Grand Prix" for the fifth time. At this point in my short lifespan Formula I was nearly a religion and drivers like Gurney, Surtees and Brabham were gods. The sound of the BRM H16 Motor screaming was...well, you get the idea. Regards, Bimmernet |

Each to their own. Just because I drive a BMW doesn't mean to say I get all emotional because they bought Sauber a few years ago.
I used to have a Mini too - happy days!!

I'll always be a Ferrari man and I'll always dislike McLaren(sorry) although when Ferrari was off the pace I was definitely rooting for McLaren over Renault (specifically Kimi). For any of you Massachusetts guys its kinda like the Red Sox against the Evil Empire for me even though it could be looked at in the opposite light. I'm definitely rooting for BMW to come in 3rd and 4th though

It's easy to root for the favorites and the teams with the biggest budgets. I'm rooting for Nico Rosberg (Williams). Finished third in Austrailia, qualified 16th this weekend. I suspect he's heavy on fuel because in a couple races last year he only made one pit stop.
Ok, of the favorites, Kimi is the man. |

I'm not going to be able to watch the race tonight, so I'm hoping for a timely repeat tomorrow!
I'd like BMW to do well in this race, we shall see.

While I do like BMW's, a lot, I've been a Ferrari guy for decades. There is nuthin' like a Ferrari, almost bought a 246 Dino in 78'. Were I able to afford a Ferrari I'd be scaring myself half to death in a fraction of an Italian nanosecond.
Should BMW happen to do well in the race? Fine. OK. Whatever.:iono:Oops. Sorry. Hamilton is a monster talent, may even soon dominate F1. Having said that...... Go Kimi.

Ferrari is the only team that's been in this series since the very beginning (1950) so naturally they have a large fan base. Without Ferrari and their heritage, there is no F1. Plus, they've made the car and the motor since the beginning. Big cred for that. I'm just hoping for the McLarens to crash into each other at turn 1 and for a Ferrari 1-2. I also enjoy seeing BMW being successful and moving up, wish success for Nico Rosberg, and I like to see Toro Rosso kicking the sister team's butt.
