HELP!!!!

Hey guys I need some help... I have had the run flats for a while now and had the left rear replaced twice from nails.. $400+$400=800.... ( the tire had a nail and was replaced then 2 days later the NEW tire had a nail... I replaced that with a run flat..) ... Now the right rear is Bald...

How long can I drive like this...? (till I figure this out)

Also this is my main prob... If I buy another run flat from BMW its $400... But to replace the back 2 tires with regular ones would be $190*2....

A regular tire leaves me stranded... The run flat I can just drive away... But If I get a regular tire they will be half the price... AHHHHH...

I don't know what to do..... Thought you guys would have some good answers...

(I have been driving on this 1mm left of rubber for 2 days now, that BMW showed me that is was bald....)

I'd go with non-runflats and carry a mobility kit in your trunk.

I'd agree. But if you want to continue on run-flats, don't buy them from the dealer and if you get another puncture, get it repaired - just like a regular tire.

And definitely replace the tire with only 1mm of tread immediately and buy a tread gauge so that you can keep tabs on your new tires!

you know you can just patch the run flats right? it cost like 25 bucks to do it.If you were replacing all that, you should have just got the tire plan where you pay 1000 for a few yrs of free repair or replacements of tires from bmw.

BMW will not patch run flat tires. But many independent tire shops will. You need to find a good one and stop getting your tire info from BMW. They make the car; they do not make the tires!

2 things:

1) As others said, RFT's can be patched, but only as long as it's not on (or too close to) the side wall - I've had one of my rears patched and have had no problems.

2) There was someone selling 2 rear RFT's on here for a decent price, and they only had few miles on them.

EDIT: Check it out! Even better deal than the one I saw a few days ago. These tires have under 1000 miles, and you can get the 2 rears for $500:

With over 1,000 posts from you I would have thought you would have read what many people went through with the patching of run flats and BMW’s refusal to do it. That would have saved you from the mess you are in. You know what they say about doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

I can buy tires, wheels, TPMS mounted and delivered from Tire Rack for a couple hundred bucks more than tires alone bought and mounted locally. When I get a BMW I order a wheel and non run flat tire set up. I bought a BMW mobility kit but you can buy a unit that does the same thing at Walmart or Auto parts stores. I am on BMW # 3 with no run flats and no spare and never been stranded. A couple time I have came out to my car and a tire was flat. I simply aired it up without the slime stuff and was able to get it to a tire shop. I frequently drive my 135i on mountain roads with no cell service and am not worried at all. If I did have an issue I could not resolve with the car I have the SOS button.

When I think about it I have had one low tire with my 135i where I had it air it up (found a valve stem loose) and I was on my way but have been stranded three times due to HPFP’s.

Keep in mind that you can't patch run flat if you've run the tire with zero pressure for a period of time. There may be structural damage running with no air pressure.

Dump the RFTs. I am so angry I didn't put on my Mich Pilot A/S Plus 3 months earlier. Definitely a much better ride and, for you, cheaper.
