Xpel 3M Film
I have used Xpel on all of my cars and I love the stuff.
Looks like they have kits for the 135i already! http://www.xpel.com/products/paint_p...21&series=1323

The only problem on white cars is the possible color change in the material. However, white is so easy to touch up.

A clear bra is the best money you will ever spend on your car. I had it on my 03 350Z while it was brand new in the showroom. After about four years it was time to change the bra because it was a little worn, but the paint underneath was like new. Had a new one installed after that and just sold the car about a month ago. I recommend to see if your dealer has contacts with a clear bra installer and have it done at the dealership before you drive your car off the lot.

Yep, I live in Canada where they put gravel on the road during the winter to improve traction. The problem is, during the spring before all that gravel gets cleaned up, it just ends up on the side of the road and causes some pretty irritating nicks if you're unlucky enough to be behind someone who kicks all that up.
I don't think anyone who spends decent money on a brand new car here goes without it. |

I will probably have this put on before I even leave the dealership.

I see too many white bmws that the film has turned noticably yellow on. I'm passing on it, and if the front gets peppered enough after a half dozen years, I'll have the front resprayed.

That's the only thing I'm worried about. Alpine White + Film.

White is one of the easiest colors to touch up.

Maybe in the early years of the film you'd get discoloration, but I haven't seen that as the case in years.
That being said, if the car is white I wouldn't worry as much as white doesn't show every little chip the way a darker color does, and yeah, super easy to touch up. |

BEST INVESTMENT for you car! Ive seen 350z pilot's car and the front was like brand new after 5 years. My 350's front end was totally destroyed by debris from the road. I wouldnt drive off the dealer without it. Worth every penny. |

Found a local 3m installer that will come to my house and install the clear bra. My plan will be to take the car home frome the dealership, then have the clear bra installed.......

I have this on my A4 and I think it is like putting plastic on your couch. when the material gets chipped it looks worse than a paint chip, and you can see it even when it isn't chipped.
its like averaging out the bad look of paint chips over the life of the car by making your brand new car look worse so it looks a little better down the road. I won't be getting it again, ever. |

Here is a picture of my old car with the 3M film. I live in Canada and we get a lot of rocks on the road in winter (since they gravel the roads) and I swear by it. My car was black, so you don't really notice it. My father has it on his silver BMW and I'll post pictures in the next couple days when his car is around so you can get an idea of how it looks on that.
I honestly think its worth it, but the one car that I think it looks worst on (because you can actually notice it if the car is dirty) is white. That being said, rock chips are generally white so white doesn't really need the 3M as badly as black or a darker color. If you look carefully in the picture of the headlight you can see the edge of the film along the edge of the body (don't mind the drops of water and some of the bugs on the car in that picture, there is one small chip you can see in that pciture between the edge of the 3M and the body though). In the picture of the wheel you can see the small seam towards the front of the car on the left.

Nope, none, you can't really actually scratch the film. Just don't wax it, for no other reason than its a bitch to get off.
