You need a jack that fits inside that plastic hole. Those side walls are not designed to take the weight of the car, as you have obviously found out. The cheap scissor jack I bought last week to fit my spacers had the appropriate adapter, but whether this is a Euro-only standard or not, I don't know.

when we were installing our PMBs last weekend, bavarian19 used a regular jack lift and it worked out alright. I expressed concern over the need for a specific adapter or at least in fashioning out blocks made out of wood (to fit the square and distribute weight evenly) but he assured me is fine...and it did. But to be on the safe side, I am looking for those adapter blocks for future project.

Yeah, the plastic jack points IMO are quite dumb.

Luckily, the jack out of my Lexus fits into the hole perfectly.

When changing summer/winter tyres, I just put a small wooden block on the metal contact point of my jack: the block burst but my plastic jacking points (at least three of them, since I wrecked the first one before I noticed it was plastic...) remained intact.

What are the demensions of the block you made? I did a quick measure and got 1.5 inches x 2.5 inces x 0.7 inches deep (38 mm x 64mm x 18 mm)

Also did you just use a piece of pressurerised wood?

I just took the first piece of wood that I found in my father's garage. No idea what the dimensions are but it is a little bit bigger than the plastic piece on the car. The wood itself is relatively soft, since the plactic things were pressed into it when I lifted the car. But the plastic itself remained fine...

i think that wooden blocks are fine, my question is when car is lifted and the contact point btw the 'wooden insert-block" the the jack point form a flat surface which allow the flat saddle of your jack to lift with no problem or no damage to the plastic jack point.
but i really think this is not safe appraoch as the saddle of the jack has nothing to grip compared to the small saddle of another jack (used by some member) slotted right into the plastic jack point where the saddle and jacking point does not move about when the car is lifted. am i right?

A jack with a flat end would make me uneasy on ANY jack point. The only aftermarket jack I owned had little teeth which would mush their way into the soft peice of the wood.

Also, the purpose of the wood is not to go into the jack point, but under it. Although, going into it couldn't really be bad.

Should be like this:

Yes, but they also had the round point undeneath for when in the shop.

A small piece of wood plank will do the job. Does not even need to fit into the plastic hole. As long as the weight is distributed on the plastic evenly, it will take the weight.

You can make a wood insert to the lift support. The measurement is 2 1/4" x 1 1/8" x 3/4".
