Huh...that's kinda odd. I definitely noticed a difference, admittedly not as huge as it's made out to be, but it was definitely better than before. I think I'll be getting some proper solid/urethane subframe mounts and diff bushings for X-Mas, which will (hopefully) be massive leaps forward.
Yeah, have had the inserts in for a few days now, and for me there's hardly any difference. Was originally going to go with M3 RSFBs, now I wish I would have. No biggie though, hopefully I'll do it sometime in the near future. No telling for sure when that'll be with the way I procrastinate. lol
The noticeable difference for me was on mid-speed accelerating out of corners. I'm surprised if you can't feel it there.

I also added a diff lockdown bracket & M3 front control arms fairly quickly after & that also helped lock down the feeling of looseness.

But nothing compared to adding the coilovers.

I went through the BS with the inserts a few years ago on my first 135i. Total snake oil if you ask me, and definitely not worth the money. Put it towards M3 running gear and be done with it the first time.

Not at all! They're Bimmerworld TA16s. Fully forged. These are 17x8.5 ET 40, and my postal scale says they're 16.75 pounds.

Damn really? I was between doing just inserts and full replacement. Maybe I'll just save the scratch and go inserts

It's interesting to me that people can't tell a difference. The feeling without them on a sweeping corner acceleration or hitting poor road changing lanes is where I noticed it most. Without them the rear felt looser and unsettled at best.

Is it night & day, no. Was it with a few hundred, definitely when coupled with the M3 front arms, & diff lockdown bracket. Of course the Ohlins made far more improvement. Had I done them first I have no idea if I'd feel it was needed but in stock form the car felt nervous and in controlled at any moderate speeds.

Thanks for that bit of info. Most people don't like to admit that the money they spent and/or the time they put in really didn't make that much of a change. I Appreciate your honesty.

Now it's probably time for Gangplank to tell us again how wonderful his RSBF inserts, M3 front control arms, diff lockdown bracket, and of course his Ohlins coilovers have made his car feel. Ad nauseam. lol

PS - just kidding Josh. But you have told us several times in the last couple of days. I know you're proud, but since it's here in writing, I don't think we're going to forget.

My not well thought out theory is there are a few factors at play. Obvious one that some of us notice more than others. This could be where and how we drive. Another obvious one is the rest of your suspension setup. Another one that I'm guessing at is how good or bad are your original bushings. They do wear and get worse from what I've read on here. I also thinking that maybe the inserts prolong the life of the stock bushings by not forcing them to get squished around so much.

I am an extremely anal/OCD person and notice everything, so it's definitely not that for me.

I agree though that different set-ups will feel different. Also, "feel" is obviously subjective, so when you pay a lot as @HyeWarrior said he did, you should feel something.

And as I said earlier in this thread "can't speak for anyone but me," so what I feel is what matters (to me).

Edit: I barely have 40k miles on my car so my bushings are probably okay.

When I did the rear subframe bushings, I was just shy of 80k miles, at 82k now. I DID notice that under a hard launch, it felt a little more stable, but again, VERY minuscule. There's actually a bit of road on my way home everyday that has a bit of a rough patch in the middle of a wide sweeping banked turn. I was hoping that the subframe bushings would help with the shimmy I'd get from driving over it, but nope. Though, it should be worth mentioning I'm still on stock sport suspension (I have Koni yellows and Dinan springs sitting in the garage).

I also did full M3 front control arms + bushings around 72k miles. That was a fantastic difference/upgrade, totally worth it

I guess the message is don't expect a big transformation. If only the full bushing replacement wasn't so labor intensive. I'll do the inserts and then think about full bushings later down the road.

Having a 128i hard launches aren't that big of an issue anyway.

Yes, that's likely true. How's that Dinan tune @[Esteban](24092210).
J/k Steve I'm jealous of your Dinan tune.

Oh and the Dinan tunes are on sale currently. Discus...

BTW, I didn't mean to sound like I think other people weren't being honest, maybe just a little "wishful thinking" on their part. lol

Dinan tune is perfect for me, Josh. Thanks for asking. Maybe they'll have a sale price for Xmas and you'll finally get it. That or MHD, or something more than just PPK, to go with your super cool suspension.

Edit: didn't see that you added to your last post, Josh. Good they have a sale. Join our club.

Well that, black lines, wheels, charge pipe, intercooler, and maybe an LSD. Other that those couple of little things i think my 1er is about perfect.
