Purchased my air ride now 4-6 week wait for that to be made. also got an unexpected bonus from work so I plan on placing the order for my wheels in two weeks. Those will take 6+ weeks to be made too. Knockings off the big ticket items for the build this winter! Super excited to see stuff coming together

Went with a different company than I have in the past. Built to order by spec and loads of adjustment to them. Aiming for a nice tight feel with the ability to not break things on speed bumps and driveways

Not breaking things is usually a good thing.

Have you seen/heard of Fortune Auto's Air Piston lift system available on their coilovers? It's like (insert particularly exotic car manufacturer name here)'s Front Lift system. Normal spring suspension, with an inflatable 'cup' on top that lifts the front end (or rear end) up to clear stuff.

I can't wait to see how your car turns out, it's going to be amazing!

A couple companies make a similar lift system. I just love the all around adjustability of air ride. I can't wait for it all to start coming together. Gonna be a completely different car

That's the thing!

Yeah, it's going to ride much better, handle better, and look better. Still can't wait until it starts coming together...

Had a chat with the local Quaife dealer, booked the car for 7th of Jan 2019 for a LSD.

I can not find the M3/1M diff bushings, they are not available from BMW:

Rear Diff Bushing x1 : 33312283384 (unavailable)
Front Diff Bushings x2 : 33312284019 (available on order)

Is there anything else regarding the read end (bushing wise) that needs to be replaced? RSFB have been replaced already (m3 front and back).

I have joint custody of my 1er with my parents since the car is hibernating there. I made a visit to see my 1er, say hi and give it a hug.

Was told since the car was already there and it was going to be on a lift anyway, it would only cost me $100 for the install. Can't beat that.

They gave me a loaner, an M240i, and I went home. Not a bad car, btw, but I'd rather have my 1er. A few hours later I got an email saying the car was ready to be picked up. Tried to notice the inserts on the way home, but tbh, there's not that much difference. A little disappointing because I expected more. Maybe I need more seat time. May consider the M3 bushings down the road.
I felt the same way, the inserts made no noticeable difference whatsoever. After hearing everyone say that it's a must have, game changing mod, I was pretty disappointed with the results. I have the Whiteline 2 piece subframe bushings in my garage that I may end up replacing the inserts with one day but I'm in no rush

I'd do some more aggressive polyurethane diff bushings and/or a diff lockdown bracket to help put the power down. Since you can't get all of the M bushings right now, you might as well. Past that, and you're past my personal experience so far. Next on my list (after proper RSFB and diff bushings) were upgraded bushings for the trailing arms, adjustable toe arms, M3 lower control arms (but I'd need shocks, too) or upgraded lower control arm bushings, and Dinan upper shock mounts.

Huh...that's kinda odd. I definitely noticed a difference, admittedly not as huge as it's made out to be, but it was definitely better than before. I think I'll be getting some proper solid/urethane subframe mounts and diff bushings for X-Mas, which will (hopefully) be massive leaps forward.

That sounds a bit overkill for me, car is 90% street driven, 5 maybe 6 track days a year. Going solid/stiffer bushings in the rear can cause some NVBs, closest track is 2 hours away so need to find a compromise between comfort on rubbish roads and confidence on the track.

Yeah, have had the inserts in for a few days now, and for me there's hardly any difference. Was originally going to go with M3 RSFBs, now I wish I would have. No biggie though, hopefully I'll do it sometime in the near future. No telling for sure when that'll be with the way I procrastinate. lol

So is mine, and I can almost guarantee our roads are worse lol. I'm willing to give up some comfort, in order to gain enjoyment on the track or on a really good road.

Well....i do not wish to go too far at the moment, so i will be trying to get the M3 diff bushings first, they are stiffer than stock and still have plenty of rubber to avoid NVBs, i will start there. One can always go for even stiffer bushings down the road.

Just checked through another online dealership's website, that rear M3/1M bushing is available for €25.75, they also have the front diff M3/1M bushings for the same price in stock, surprisingly a lot cheaper than my local dealer.

Wife just ordered me two rear Continental 255's DWS tires for Xmas. For some reason the rears wear quicker then the fronts.
