What's your fuel economy like with your 1M?
I'm not sure if this has been covered before (I'm sure it has..) but wanted to know what your fuel economy is like these days?
Mine doesn't seem that great: In Toronto: 94 Octane: $1.45 ~ $1.50 per litre Full Tank costs: 50L-55L costs $72-$80 I can do about 350km on a full tank....that's roughly 7km/1L, or 16.46 MPG. What do you guys get? Am I way off with other 1M drivers? I just hit 14,000 km on my car. Last edited by arvinz; 11-02-2013 at 10:29 PM.. |

It costs me approximately £70 (around $110 USD) to fill up my 1M with 99 octane fuel. I typically get 280 miles from a tank, more on a long run. Typically the OBC shows 23 mpg.

My overall in the trip computer says 11.7 l/100km. But I'll usually see 12.2 over a fuel tank with a mix of freeway driving and peak hour stop/start. I have no doubt I could better this if the right foot would let me...
I've seen nearly 650km out of a tank on the highway, but I'm lucky to crack 400km from the tank during the weekly commute mix. 350 sounds pretty low but not impossible given the wrong conditions (I should add that my engine/exhaust is completely stock) Last edited by Piets94; 11-03-2013 at 02:41 AM.. |

What are you guys complaining about? My average consumption over 7900km is 16.7l/100km according to the OBC. That number includes all kinds of conditions.
I don't think this car was designed to be very fuel efficient. |

Never made more than 300 km with a tank. However, tank capacity bothers me more than (lack of) fuel efficiency.

I seldom reset my trip computer and only reset it when I plan to go on a 'longer' highway trip with a full tank of gas. And my overall from last reset stabilized at 11.7L/100km. So I guess that's my average with 80% city driving (no rush hour driving).

Hmm ok...so my fuel economy doesn't sound too bad I guess...
I'm doing about 14.28L/100km... What gear do you guys park it at about 130km/h? I usually don't go above 4th,, but maybe I should try 5th or even 6th if I don't have the M button on. |

That explains your fuel economy. When I am cruising on highway, I always stay at 5th or 6th. If you don't go above 4th on highway, what gear do you use around town? say 2nd @ 70-80kph?

Around town usually 3rd if I'm cruising at like 60-80km.
3rd gear maxes out at around 150km/h so I figured that's a pretty safe gear to be in during city...never felt I needed to go to a higher gear. |

I myself pass to fifth only after 140-150 km/h, otherwise stay at 4th. I rarely use the 6th, some journeys not even once. Kind of love the 4th which tops at 237 km/h by the way. For the city driving, always 2nd or 3rd while moving.
