I'm running kosei k1 17x8.5 I think et40. 225/45/17 Federal RSR front and 255/40/17 RSR rear. I have slight rubbing over bumps in the rear, I've done what I can with a fender roller and heat gun but still get the pesky rub. I know the R compounds run wide was just seeing if anyone on here has experience with the kosei and r comp tires

Those will probably rub the fender lip, especially in the rear, but it also depends on what tire size you're trying to run...

hi
setup complete!
Wheels: Fast FC-04 Front: 18x8 ET40 (square) Spacer: N/A Rear: 18x8 ET40 (square) Spacer: N/A, will probably get a small spacer because hella flush yo Tires: Front - some cheap chinese tire i can't remember 235/40R18 Rear - same crap tire 235/40R18 Suspension/Fender Mods/Camber: none for now Notes: no rubbing. i'll probably ditch these meaty tires for 215s when they wear out and get some H&R springs, but i'm a student so i can't afford those toys for now. image - https://vgy.me/wvJ5uh.jpg edit 08/18/2017 - front rubs on the fender liner in big dips on the highways (found this out the hard way while in gaspésie) at 50-65mph. the only part that rubs is soft plastic and it's just a small scrape,so no worries there. rear also rubs, but this is due to a slow leak in the rear shocks. i scrapped the plans for h&r springs and got coilovers, which are on their way, but it's a three month waiting list. i'll get to taking on some more detailed pictures later, probably next week; it's the weekend alright you gotta spend it wisely Last edited by durpflip; 08-18-2017 at 02:08 PM.. Reason: very big image so i just linked it |

I've got an opportunity to pick up 4 Style 42s for my 128 (to use for winter). 16x7, ET46 they're from an E36. According to searches from this forum these should fit no problem but i wanted to confirm for sure? Tires will be 205/55/16. Currently I have the OEM steelies 16x7 but with ET31 they rub on speed bumps, driveways, etc plus these look great!

I stayed with 215 at the front because I was afraid that 255s in the rear would rub too much. And the difference in diameter between 245/35/18 and 225/40/18 was too much for my liking.
Next set of rubber i will bump up the width front and back. Although i'm thinking of adding a 3mm spacer at the front right now. |
