Eibach Multi-Pro R2 Coil Over System
I'm considering this kit for 135i > 1M Conversion... I currently have H&R Sport Springs w/ Koni Yellows Dampers. I need something with adjustable height and will be using the car primarily for autocross & track, and the occasional drive around town of course.
Here's some notes on this from their website; What's all your thoughts on these?? For the ultimate in tunable suspension performance, Eibach has developed Multi-Pro-R2 Coil-overs, specially tuned spring/damper units that allow you to extract the last ounce of cornering power from your vehicle. The Coil-Over design lets you precisely tune the corner weights for optimum handling balance, and the wide range of the damping adjustability lets you tune for the comfort, ultimate grip, or anything in between. This kit is perfect for the club racers or drivers who demand the high performance handling and optimal ride quality for which Eibach is famous. Feature Independently Adjustable Rebound and Compression Damping with Remote Reservoir Easy Ride-Height/Corner Weight Adjustability – Lowering 0.80” – 2.5” Monotube Design w/46mm pistons for Maximum Street and Track Performance Spring Rates can be Tuned with a Wide Range of Eibach Motorsport ERS Springs (available separately) Precise Spherical Upper Bushing Mount Stainless-Steel/Teflon Braided Reservoir Lines Legendary Eibach Suspension Quality and Tuning 100% Designed and Built at Eibach U.S.A

Once you go over $2k the coilover choices are a new league.
One question, what front brakes will you run? If you are converting to 1m/m3 front brakes and knuckles then the this m3 or 1m kit is good If you will run a BBK on your 135i 1 series front knuckles you then need to get a lot with a mix of shocks: E9x e8x non m front And m3 1m rears to mate to the M shock carrier arm

Guess I'll have to research that some more before I decide on the coilovers...

If you keep 135i front and make the rear m3 1m spec then the following brands have a solution for you usually through One of the vendors here to get the custom kit
Ohlins mixed with swift springs AST TCKline JRZ Nitron

I have these exact coilovers, Is there anything in particular you'd like to know?
Edit: 2 things... the kit does not come with upper spherical mount as it says, it utilizes the stock upper guide supports for its needs and it also does not come with the pictured helper springs. The kit is also made to mate perfectly to the stock rear lower camber link and will not work with the 1m/m3 rear camber link. That picture is a stock image and not the kit for this car. This image is what they actually look like out of the box for the the kit for our cars + non-M e90/92's: Last edited by Sixle; 04-09-2015 at 12:12 AM.. |

Never used this kit but off the bat I see 2 positives. Good springs (Eibach are the best), and the dampers have external reservoirs which mean they can displace a lot more fluid to control the damping better. However, because you have to use a 1M/M3 rear damper and a non-M front one, your probably best off with TCK, JRZ, etc like andrey_gta said

I work at Eibach and have personally used this kit on a number of applications. There just isn't enough reviews online about these but they're very good dampers. If you're sticking with the 135i suspension/brake assembly you can use these and won't be disappointed.
I have a prototype set on my E46 M3 that I track quite regularly and love them! Match them with a set of GC camber plates and you'll have all the adjustments you'll need. We also use our off-the-shelf motorsport springs with these so buying different rates is an easy option if you have a particular number in mind. If you have any other questions feel free to call me in the office. Tony 951.256.8300 |
