N52 Header to Engine Gaskets
Hey all, wondering if anyone has tips for installing these donut style gaskets on headers.
I am having mixed success getting these fitted and not damaging them in the process. Thanks for any advice anyone has! |

When I seated them on the headers, then fed the headers in, I pinched one of the gaskets. When I re-did it, I had both headers up on the studs loosely, then I seated the exhaust gaskets into the engine block, then fed the headers in carefully. Once I could tell it was on properly, I just tightened one nut on each back to hold it.

Those look nasty on the second pic. Definitely would invest in a new set or ones that have not been cracked. It will save you more headache in the future.

@gixracer, thanks I have 2 spares. At minimum I'm replacing the 1st and 3rd on those, but I may be able to track down another locally today. Doing surface prep and cleanup before I make my final decisions.
