Obviously, this will help keep the LSD cool; I assume that's important for a clutch-type like I'm going for to reduce wear and improve longevity. It also looks badass. That it for the benefits?

They're air dams designed to maintain proper air pressure in the wheel well.

IKR!

That is the magical question! I know the E60/61 diffs had a drain on the bottom of the casing to the side, and it looks like you could possibly drill and tap one into the back cover on this diff. I'll definitely explore some options, but I'll probably end up without one.

That's why I want to extend them. BMW left 'em short so they didn't have to hear the complaints. That, the nicely factory-managed under-body air flow, the factory rear spoiler, and making a real vent out of the fake vent on the rear "diffuser" make for some real-world (seat-of-the pants) aerodynamic improvement. I'm sure that if I were to ever to be in a legally acceptable position to test my hypothesis, I would find that my car felt far more "planted" at 100+ MPH than it would at 80 MPH.

Yes, found a couple threads and a couple guides. Just checking if anyone that is constantly active on this thread used a specific one as guidance.

Got about 3 PDFs the last hour, reading Thur them.

FINALLY got my Koni Yellow Sports put on.
I may tighten them up a hair, but so far they feel great!
Still on stock springs for the time being.

(FWIW, I went with 2/3 turn rear and 3/4 turn front).

Jealous. I ordered a set a couple of weeks ago, and they're back ordered until the end of July

Odd - I ordered mine about a month ago and they were on my doorstep 2 or 3 days later. I also ordered a full set of shock mount replacements and hardware kit (Turner packages the whole supporting hardware kit together - cost around $150-ish).

Picked up KW V3 on my car at 15:30.

The young man who owns the shop took me on a test drive, scared the living shit out of me. He took corners at speeds, if it was stock M suspension, we would be bouncing, leaning and probably run off the country road numerous times. Car is completely transformed, it feels like there are weights on each wheel and absolute control. Within minutes i got used to how he was driving and laughed since the car was more capable, but it was a public road.

-1.7 camber front and -1.4 rear, he does not like running more than that on a mostly street car, says that it can eat up wheel bearings faster.

Toe is 70 minutes front and 50 rear (i think that is 0 degrees in total).

Front bump 8 clicks, rebound 5 clicks.

Rear bump 7 clicks, rebound 4 clicks.

He said this is a "middle ground" for not too stiff and not too soft, good for daily and fun for track, it is a bit stiffer but not anywhere near stock M sport suspension. So much more confidence inspiring, a lot less leaning, it just "rides" over road imperfections. Yes, some really nasty stuff you will hear the suspension "bump" instead of "boom/thud" of M-Sport. It is planted, basically. Drove 160 kph on a bar part of the A3 and it just stuck to the road, on the M sport suspension it would hop and thud here and there and give you that floaty feeling from time to time, not anymore.

Went to the DIY, found out after spending 20 minutes removing the front discs that the caliper carriers i was sent are incorrect, so not 330mm front discs for me. Got to contact the guys in the UK and ask them to send me the correct one. New EBC yellows allround, Castrol SRF fluid. Spent 2 hours bleeding the clutch slave, no fluid was coming out. We tried everything from removing the slave and manually pushing the pin, to using a vacuum pump to try to "suck" fluid out.

In the end, the filter inside the brake reservoir was the cause. It has these moulded extensions that were blocking the fluid flow to the rear of the reservoir, causing air to get into the clutch system. Funny, spending so much time and so many methods to be foiled by simply turning a small €3 filter correctly -.-

Transmission fluid replaced to the recommended castrol B 75w instead of the multivehicle 75w90 (which i found out was not BMW approved). Shifts perfectly smooth as silk now, and the pedal feel is bang on.

I am broken, so much time spent on the car getting it done, it is bitter sweet. I wish i had the correct carriers for the bigger discs, but the suspension, engine tune, clutch/transmission feel is so nice to have.

FYI: KW dealer recommended going low 2.2 bar (cold) all 4 tires with this suspension on MPS4 tires. I was running 2.5bar all round, front feels a bit draggy but grips like hell, will experiment a bit and see how its like on track this weekend.

Just got on it on my way home and pulled off the highway to be greeted with limp mode. I'm assuming that's the large CEL and loss of power.

Codes are 29D2 cylinder 6
2A87 exhaust VANOS mechanism
3100 boost pressure control, deactivation.

Are all these caused by the misfire on cylinder 6 ?

You'll recall that it was cylinder 6 that I recently replaced the injector but didn't code....and still haven't coded because I can't read the damn numbers.

What do you all think ?

Is that the approved 1Addicts trick?
Wife wants me to go back to stock springs (No Way, Jose!) every time she hears a scrape.
Removing the lip seal would go a long way toward mitigating scrapage.
Still won't help when the muffler gets caught up on steep driveway exits, though...
Turn up the radio.
