Altec Retractable Front License Plate Holder?
Yea, we all hate front license plates and how they ugly up the otherwise beautiful front of the car, but doing a search on options to put the ugly plate on and avoid ticket$ here in Oregon, I've searched the forums to find:
(1) Two Tow bracket options: A. The 'No-Holes' from gominigo and B.The CPE Tow plate option. (2)The Skene option. and this interesting one, (3) The Altec Retractable Front License Holder Has anyone installed the Altec Retractable front license holder yet on a 135i? The automatic with remote looks cool, but just one more thing to breakdown... If so, got any pics and/or feedback?

The Altec looks interesting and could be very funny to have.
Imagine getting pulled over for not having a front plate because you have it in the stored position. After the nice officer and you come to a stop (with the nice officer parked behind you) you hit the remote and the plate is now up and properly displayed. "Good afternoon officer, may I help you?"....."Yes, I pulled you over for not having a front tag displayed"....."But officer, I have a front plate. There must be some mistake".....(the nice officer walks to the front of the car and Hmmmm?...wtf)......."OK sir, have a nice day."

Yea, I'm just curious about putting on the 1 since it would probably have to be centered and when the plate comes up, could deflect too much airflow from the intercooler = a bad thing. Might just go with the Skene.

Just mount it away from the IC and there is no way they could find out and have no reason or right to search around and how many officers have you run into that are willing to get down and lay flat to look under a low car?

Umm, No right to search AROUND the car?? Just an FYI thats not correct at all. Breaking the plane of the window/door. I.E. sticking your hand or head in is searching. Even then police can search your car if something is in "plain view". I.E They can see a gun, drugs etc in plain sight (sitting on the floor or seat). Simply looking around the car in no shape way or form is illegal. You are no doubt right though, most cops would have no idea what this is. But I have a suspicion there may be a cop or two on here that know about this. They might not give another BMW owner a ticket for it and look the other way. But they might give someone else a REALLY hard time about it. I could be wrong though
