Pioneer AVH-X7500BT with custom iphone dock

I installed a Pioneer AVH-X7500BT with all the interface cables needed to plug in my iphone. I made a custom docking station to take the place of the ashtray which will accept the IPhone 5 or 6. The video is not great it was a night time shot and I did not have very good lighting anyplace. I also took a picture with the flash to show you the ashtray mod.

I LOVE THIS SETUP....

I have thought about doing something similar. Back when I had my 330xi I was looking at a company that made a dock that replaced the ashtray. More useful than an ashtray in my case anyway. I have the snap in adapter in my car but it's for the older connector style iphone. So I hacked in a new one. Not pretty but only effected adapter and it works.

Yeah I looked around for a dock that would go in place of the ashtray but did not find much. I think I came across one but it was not cost affective. So, I took a $8 docking station and modified it with the correct cable and the ability to accept a IPhone 6 and mounted it in there. I'm happy with the way it turned out and it works great. Video and charging. Cool thing is not only the way it came out but if you remove it, the original ashtray will go right back in and you would never know anything was touched.
