Skid Plate - 2008 135i

I am hitting bumps and potholes on the road causing damage to the underside. Is there an aftermarket skid plate for the 135i? Thanks much!

Pretty sure ECS might sell one but I could be wrong.

Give Turner a call.

There isn't one in the offerings at present, but they make a bunch of different models already and claim a group of 1 Series are in the employee lot.....I'd have interest if their pricing on the other models reflects what they could build a 1 Series version for.

This message is from race skids. Any one interested for a group buy? Race skids.com Thanks very much.

I can't justify the time for one plate. you are the first to ask for one. What I have done in the past is I charged $1500. I get the car, I make the plate. then after I sell 5 I refund you $1250. I am sure there are more people after one.

$250 per and I'd take one for daily purposes and swap it for autocross days.....

That's 2 of us. In Houston, the roads are bad and I hit bumps/potholes often. We need 3 more to join us 🙂

If it's designed to fully replace the plastic under tray (at least the front most big piece, not necessarily the stuff under the trans), then I'm in for one too.

That plastic piece is so crappy. On uneven roads I must have hit the undercarriage multiple times and my recent bill is $2500:-(

I am also speaking with other manufacturers as well. Turner has a 1 yr development back log.

My original one had a decent chunk missing from a large rock I ran over (only dented the exhaust a little thankfully), and was starting to also loose it's integrity around the side/back mounting points because of that.

I replaced it with an aftermarket one, and learned that those are even worse! Although fully intact, the aftermarket one is thinner, looser plastic, less brittle as well, but hangs down like the car has a damn diaper on lol. The fitment is pretty bad and I get tired of seeing it every time I'm under the car.

Just spoke with Eric and confirmed the price of $250 for each plus shipping ($25-30). Does anyone live in Portland as the shop is in Vancouver, WA for getting the measurements of 135i? I am guessing it will be the same for 128i. The entire process from ordering to receiving the skid plate will take less than a month.Thank you

I need to know more ...

Solid? (no holes but for screws)
No loose spacers. Either welded spacers or recessed just like stock.
What material? (Aluminum or HDPE)
Thickness?
Weight?

Hit the right answers and I'd be in.
What does it look like?
