[PICS Added] BMS Intake N55 - MAF Connector line not long enough??
Installing BMS Intake n55 and the MAF unit that goes into the new intake fits fine and lines up with the screws, but the actual wire to plug into the MAF unit wont reach it when the intake is laid where it is suppose to sit. It's too short.
The wire will only reach the MAF unit when its turned backwards in the intake, but then the screws dont align to hold it in. Do I need some sort of extension? HELP! Last edited by Bilka; 01-07-2014 at 11:22 AM.. |

You shouldn't need any extensions or anything. I put a BMS intake on my '13 just about a month ago and had zero issues. Maybe you can contact BMS?

I'd have to look at it, and my car is away for winter, but I'm pretty sure my MAF sensor wire either comes up out of the middle of the rear engine cover or on the passenger side. Not the driver's side like yours does. I wish I could open the hood and take a look for you. I tried Google images but it not conclusive.

Yes the MAF wire on my car comes from the passenger side across and exits the loom about right in the middle.

I wonder how the heck it got over there then? Looks like you'll need to fish it back under that rear engine cover so it can come out where it is supposed to. Maybe tug on it and see if you can find where it splits off the main harness and pull it back out from there?

Someone must have taken off the engine cover and routed it to the wrong side. You will have to pull it back out to the middle.

This is why I try to learn how to do everything myself. Shops don't care about your car and therefore make mistakes. Try it yourself and see if you can figure it out. It'll be done right because you care about what you are doing and you're not just trying to get to 5 o'clock.

I got PPK1 done last week at BMW, that may have been it. Are there any DIYs for taking off the engine cover? |
