I live in Milpitas - I went to Performance Technic in Dublin since they came very highly recommended. I can't find my invoice sheet but it was in the 500s. They are top notch and really know BMWs. It's a bit of a drive from San Jose, but they have a drop box so I left it there the previous night.

I've not had any Walnut Blasting done on my car, but I have called around a few shops in the San Jose area and the following would be on my target list:
BR Racing: http://www.brrperformance.com/ Reputable shop located in Los Gatos (reasonably convenient if you live on the south-west side of SJ like Willow Glen). I've had a variety of work done by them, and it's always been good. Speed Element: http://www.speedelement.com/ Located on the north side of SJ. The reason I list them is that they're the cheapest I've found for Walnut Blasting in the south bay. When I called them, they seemed to know plenty of details about the N54 (which I have), so I feel they know what they're talking about. They're busy, so be prepared to wait a few weeks to get a slot... Karl.

$400 labor + $25 material.
But YMMV. Karl.

I'm selling the wand, intake adapter, and Harbor Freight blaster setup for anyone tackling this challenge on their own.
I can even help you take off the intake manifold to get going. |
