Why would you put cheap chinese tires in the rear? Why are you driving a 135 if you can't afford to buy a set of rear tires once a year or two years?

F-225/40/18, R-255/35/18 MPSS and love them. Wished I had gotten rid of my RFT sooner, very pleased with performance and the ride quality improvements.

Now on the hunt for one of these.

Didn't mention my winter tires; General G-Max AS-05's. Good tires. Quiet, ride well, can handle Virginia snow, I can have fun with them whenever the weather is nice, and they're very affordable, but not cheap-y.

Thanks will prolly try them out next time as the crazy perf snows are more suited for the M5, I will need snows on my E34 540 for next winter and will probably go with the Xi3 there too.

I really didnt expect the Hakka R2's to be as sloppy as they are in the dry, but the snow capability is what I wanted.

Like you I run only square setups for snow tires on my 1M and did the same previously on my 135is

I just bought my car from a dealer who just put new Bridgestone Bridgestone POTENZA RE050A's on the car. Are they any good? Seem fine to me even though they are run flats... car doesn't seem harsh.

I'll need to pick up a winter set and wheels so we'll see for that!

Are they FREEway miles? Lettin' some (insert patriotic German animal here) out?

Rottweilers, I think they work.

You were letting some Rottweilers out on those tires!

Perfect.

Firestone Firehawk Indy 500

Installed a new set of Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 and the difference is night and day when compared to stock run flats.

They actually have really good grip, just ride like concrete bricks. You will see the difference when you get rid of them, which won't take long.

For the record:

8,800+ kms on new MPS4 225/40/18 all round

Front depth 7.5mm
Rear Depth 6.5mm

This includes several track days, highway, backroads, city etc.

I was expecting less, since i was really pushing the car on GP track and Airfield courses, i am surprised honestly.

Just slapped a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on my car. 225/40/18 245/35/18. Previous tires were the Pilot Super Sports. So far really impressed with the 4S. On the fun road I some times drive with lots of curves and elevation changes, the 4S just feels like it has a ton more grip where I find myself elevating my corner speeds more and feeling more confident pushing the car. Plus the 4S rides noticeably quieter than the SS'.

In the tire sizes I bought, Tire Rack still has the SS' in addition to the 4S. But the prices are the same. So I opted for the 4S especially with the rep at Tire Rack telling me Michelin made some changes to the tire compound to make them last a bit longer than the SS'.

Finally swapped the AS to the MPSS this past weekend... gained at least 10mph on ramps. Used the MPSS last year, was funny because it was the newest set of summers I ever put on, usually they are more worn after 1 year. If I keep the 135 I might even be able to get a 3rd year out of them. Might be a while till I try the MP4S.

Edit - Seems like there is still MPSS stock out there..
