Am I missing parts after a service ?

So I took my car to BMW to see about them replacing the bad fuel injector (index 07) under their recall and they refused to do it stating that since the recall was performed in 2011 and one injector was replaced, they have closed the recall and I'm SOL. So they charged me $153 for a "diagnosis fee" when I told them EXACTLY what was wrong (faulty injector #6), quoted me $2900 to replace all six injectors because now they (BMW) have made the index 07 so obsolete that I can't mix and match anymore. OK, so that's bad enough. I'm currently driving a rental until a used 07 index injector gets to me from eBay so I can replace it so that's another $300 out of pocket since their "warranty" is bullshit.
Well, this morning I popped the hood and immediately noticed that the cowl from the front grille to the stock airbox is missing. Before I ream them a new one can anyone tell me if anything else is missing ? I know the firewall cowl and engine cover are off, I'm looking specifically at the area around the airbox cowl and front grille.
Can someone take a picture of their engine so I can compare to mine. Thanks.

EDIT - 1addicts won't let me upload a picture of my engine right now.

Do you mean the snorkel that feeds air from the grill to the airbox? That should definitely be there.

You can upload a photo to www.imgur.com and then post the link here.

That should be better....

Yes, the snorkel is missing. I'm wondering if anything else is missing that I haven't noticed.

Yeah, I took the engine cover off when I took it to the dealer as I had swapped coils around to see if the misfire moved. I was just curious as to whether or not there is something under the snorkel that is also missing.

Uh, did your car have a oil filter-cooler housing? I wasn't aware they made the 135i without one.

Yikes, 2900 for injectors? They cost around 750 on fcpeuro for a set of index 12s and labor shouldn't be too much at an indy shop. I'd be so mad if I were you. You paid the premium for peace of mind that the job would be done right and they give you back your car with missing pieces. Which dealer is this so we can stay away?

Look again - FCP Euro sell them for $1500 now. I have no issue replacing them myself, it's pretty easy and I have INPA so I can code them when done.
I emailed FCP Euro about the hike in price and they said :

"Unfortunately, these are very limited in the country currently and BMW has skyrocketed the price fro this reason. These are currently very expensive everywhere. The price on these will not go down until there is a new shipment to BMW NA for these items which unfortunately does not look like it will come in anytime soon."

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...-13538616079kt

Ridiculous considering they were half that price two years ago.

They were half that price as recent as 01/31/2018 as that is when I bought mine from them. I apologize as I thought they were still that price. I had been browsing injectors for a while before buying and they were consistently at that price. But what ended up happening with your missing pieces? What did the dealership say?

They have the missing pieces and are going to deliver them to my job. Too bad about the injectors though, luckily I don't need them right now but if I do....$1200.

It's even worse for us Australians. Buying through FCP Euro at $1500 US is still the cheapest option. Factor in the current exchange rate and we're paying $2000 AU for injectors before shipping. It's absurd.

Some of the people on a 135/335 page I'm on wrote to FCP to ask what the story is. Apparently BMW released a part number for the injectors to allow dealerships to buy them at a lower price for the purpose of warranty repairs. However, due to the much lower price, apparently dealerships were stocking up on them and then selling them off to anyone and everyone at a profit so BMW discontinued that supply of parts.

I can see why they would do that but still, these prices are absurd as you said.
I wonder if the actual manufacturer would supply them ?
