here's a little anecdote with my experience:

i was never a fan of debadging. i thought the car would loose it's character and prestige. to be quite honest, by character and prestige i actually mean bragging rights. i paid decent money for my 135i and the last thing i wanted was people not to know what i was driving because it's so awesome. so yes, i was afraid it would make my car look slower and cheaper and i was afraid of missing those moments in the parking lot when someone reads the badge and goes "daaaaamn it's a one thirty five i!!!" so i bought matte black badges for my AW

went ahead and put tape around the original badge, marked it and then removed the original badge. took a step away and..... MY EFFIN GOD did that ass look gorgeous. just looks so much cleaner and balanced. that 135i emblem was like an awkward weight to the right... so i just never had the will to put any badges back on ever since and now i have my original emblem and the brand new matte black one i never used sitting somewhere in a drawer.

and as for the bragging rights in parking lots, i must admit.... it's 100x more fun now. people go "woooahhh what an insane ride what is that?". and i've heard "is that an M3?" countless times. including during one track day which just kills me hahaha. it's so much freaking fun, i had no idea. so much better than the bragging.

so that's it . congrats on debadging and i doubt you'll wanna go back to having those awkward numbers sitting there.

I like the clean, symmetrical look of a debadged BMW. But in your case since you put on a special badge already I'd keep it. It looks good on the white.

My vote is to debadge. Haven't had a single badge on my car sine my Spec-V back in 2000. Badges are nasty.

I can't remember not debadging any of my cars. I even debadge my jeans, buy shirts without logos, and take stickers off my electronics. It's just a better cleaner look. This is why I could never buy anything Harley-Davidson, it would take me months to debadge.

I can't imagine when a automotive designer is working on his clay model stepping back looking at his beautiful creation and thinking where to I put the badge to finish it off.

I understand in Europe when you order a car the badging is optional.

someone asked me if it was an M3 while it had the badge. Granted it was in a parking lot and he couldn't see the rear end.

Acutally it is a no cost option NOT to have the badging on the car. Most people debadge their rides. Myself included.

De-badge. The factory plastic chrome-look numbers aren't attractive, and the 1's rear-end looks wider and cleaner with them removed.

Debadge...much cleaner and leaves people wondering. People ask me all the time what kind of car is that, even though the car has been out since 08. SMH
