I am waiting to see these on a 1er before I bite, as I imagine a lot of folks are.

And, while I'm at it, a quick question:

I was at the track (MSR) this weekend and spoke to a fellow 1addict who was running Arc-8s. His tires were square (255 all around, about -2.3 camber and no rubbing with the HPA koni/swift suspension set up) but his wheels were not square (8.5 and 9.5). What, if anything, is the downside to this setup?

These are 8.5 width and et45.

According to 1010tires offset calculator, this would be like runnig a 17mm spacer on the stock wheels.

With wider tires, will this fit? I can't imagine it would with wider tires....but maybe I'm missing something.

My car rubbed on eibach suspension with a 10mm spacer and 225 re-11 tires on stock wheels.
Hi,

I currently run the Apex ARC-8, 8.5x18 ET 45 front and 9.5x18 ET 62 rear (with a 4mm spacer). See below picture. No rub with 225/40 front and 255/35 rear (Michelin PSS) or 265/35 rear Michelin Cup (even wider Toyo 888 will fit in that size).

My current camber is -1.2 front and -1.5 rear, car lowered by 1.6 inches.

Cheers

NTTY: Your car is so clean it's ridiculous.
I've never seen a car on a racetrack that looks like it's actually on the showroom floor.
Your ride height looks perfect. Your stance looks perfect.
And the car looks rock solid going around that corner.

Well done sir

But to stay on topic: First mounted pics gets free tickets to awesometown.

Intention was only to show KennyPowers that 8.5x18 ET 45 will fit nicely ;-)

And BTW, I ran also same wheels but 8.5x18 ET 38, that was the first set available at APEX. It was ok, but I had camber of -2.3° front and -2.5° rear. I was on Toyo R888 225/40 front and 265/35 rear. My current setting is less agressive.

These are the 8.5 ET 38 front:

And again for KennyPowers, this a pic of the stock wheels (with Continetal winter tyres, 225/40 and 255/35), it helps seing the difference:

I don't take side pictures often, I must admit. Here are two:

- ET38 front and Toyo tyres 225/40 and 265/35:

- ET45 front and Michelin Pilot Super Sport 225/40 and 255/35:

- On the track again, but not sure about the tyres, I believe Toyo 225/40 and 255/35:

Thank you! I'm impatient to get the new EC-7 and will do pictures as soon as they are on the car. I went for the anthracite colour. I plan going for a track day on August 23rd, let's hope I get the new wheels before.

Cheers

Awsome! Thanks for the side view shots. I think they make your car look more classy! When you do get the new wheels what combination are you going with? Will a 225/40 up front work with the EC-7, or will we have to go with 235/35? I'm going with 265/35 in the rear.

18*10 33 and 25!!!!! Thts exactly what i want!!!!!!!! What are prices like/going to be like?

Ed: for a stock 1 series 135i, yeah only the 9.5 58 will fit, but the 128i should take 9.5 +45 like my e87 13i due to less wide hubs rear.

I'll go 225/40 front with the EC-7 and 255/35 rear, that's my current setup for D2D anyway.

Cheers.

We're working on catching up on PM's and responding to forum threads. In the mean time, here are some photos:

Anthracite 18x8.5" ET45 front with 235/40/18
Anthracite 18x9.5" ET58 rear with 265/35/18

Car is on Koni yellows, stock sport springs, and M3 control arms.

The 128i and 135i should be exactly the same in the rear. This is based on a lot of local testing. I've never seen a 1 series fitment that allowed for lower offset wheels. It may be possible, but until we see one in person, we will have to stick to our current recommendation. Please PM us more information about this if you have any to keep this thread organized.

strange, since the 135i rear brakes don't fit a 128i and.. any other 1 series, because the hubs are different?

for sure the 130i E87 fits a 9.5" +45 (what i'm running lol)

Yeah finally pics are up!

Thay look great Paintpro.

I'm planning on running 245/35 up front, conti extreme contact DW. Do you think i can make that happen with a reasonable amount of camber? I dont want to spend too much $ on the camber issue as i will not be tracking the car. Thats y i ask, 'reasonable' amount.

Hi,

The only downside is that tyres will best work with a specific rim width. So the same tyres on a 1" difference rim width is the guarantee that one of them does not offer the best of its performance. Usually best fit for 8.5 and 9.5 is 235 and 265, but that might vary from one manufacturer to the other, some provide you with this information.

Cheers.

good points

i still want to see if you can fit a wide tire in the above sizes, like an ad08 or re-11, on this wheel on a lowered car without rubbing.

my car will only be on performance suspension so im planning on getting a set to run on my 225/255 re-11s.

only question is while anthracite or silver look better on a black / tan 135......

How'd 245 fit on the front wheels? Will there be a crazy tire bulge, and will it rub if I got ~1.6 degrees of neg camber?

235 and 265 might rub depending on the brand but it will be hard to tell in advance unless someone tried.
I've always run 225 front. I tried rear 265 Toyo R888 and they where rubbing even with -2.5° camber (had to pull by say 2mm on the fenders). The 265 Michelin Cup do not rub even with -1.5° camber. I am running the APEX ARC-8 9.5x18ET62 with a 3mm spacer.

Note that some tyres will work even better when "tight" on a rim (I'm not sure it translates, sorry ), like all Michelin tyres for instance. So in that case 225/255 looks like a very good choice (if available!).

Cheers.
