These are new I believe. Just got them put on today, upsizing and moving from the stock awfully driving runflats. The initial impressions are that they handle and rise beautifully without the noise or harsh ride. Haven't gotten to test the limits of them yet but now the car feels a little underpowered for the tires, if that makes sense.

I have Contis DW on mine. Put them on 4K miles ago. Originally Dunlop runflats.
I experience no tire spin whatsoever, no mater how hard I try. This is a good thing in my book. Ride comfort and smoothness is remarkable.
However, now that the grip is always there, the suspension feels too soft and mushy at times, as all other rubber parts get to work much harder now, it seems. Not sure if I like that.

They've actually been out for several years now, but Continental continues improving design and tread compound. I've run both the DW and DWS on previous BMWs of mine and thought they were excellent tires for the price.

Not to nitpick but i'm pretty sure the ExtremeContact Sport has now replaces the DW. That's what i'm running now. They've improved quite a bit from the DW.

Have had DW's on my 135i before. Very good tires for the price. I'm considering getting the DWS so I drive 12 months with no worries.

Will be curious as to how these compare to the MPSS and PS4. I've had both DW and mpss over the course, with the dw being inferior in every way other than traction in very wet conditions. Just barely scraped 10k out of the dw as well, whereas on my current mpss I've already done over 10k and have at least 5k left on them if I had to guess.

Perhaps ita changed but historically the conti tires really haven't been good value unless you just need a cheaper tire now. I'd go with Vreds first.

You're correct. I think they're trying to rebrand it as an alternative to compete with Michelin. I hope they last longer as opposed to the old DW!

Huge +1 to that. That was my primary complaint with the old DW. Actually worked out to be more expensive than the pair of MPSS I had previous to them due to how fast they wore out, unsure how they will compare to the tread life on the set I have on now.

I can say how long they last or how well they ride on the street, but on the track, they have plenty of grip.

A coupe of months ago I did a couple of hours at the "introduction to BMW" type event at the performance driving center at Thermal and I was surprised how well the Extreme Contacts gripped. This was kind of a 2 hour, just drive the shit out of their M cars type of event, and they tires I can say did pretty well.

I use to have them on my 760whp evo. They GRIP! also will surprise you because they lasted 52k on my car. ( no track days)

My main gripe about Conti's is that that are good when new... but when you get the tires half way worn down... they make all sorts of noises(cupping/wheel bearing type noises). I'm not a fan.

Once I discovered Michelin PS3's/PS4's/PSS... there is no going back to "mere" mortal tires. With my worn out PS3's... I could not believe how well they worked in the rain. And no tire noises when you get down to that last bit of tire thread.

I really can't recommend Michelin's performance tires enough. Right now I am running PS4's. Not the PS4S. I am still blown away with the performance of these tires.

FWIW the Conti DWs i have on my other car were comparable to PSS in dry/wet performance, but I didn't have the road noise (lets wait till i get to the last 1/4 of treadlife lol).

The advantage of the PSS to my current set of tires is the road noise and wet traction. And by road noise I mean my dunlops are probably 3x louder than my PSS were. The only thing that makes me not want PSS again is price and the steering feel compared to other more aggressive tires.

You won't be disappointed! I have the DWS 06 on my car and it's handled the snow without any issues!

Based on the limited amount of feedback I've received thus far, customers have told me that the EC Sport is comparable to the outgoing PSS. Not sure what improvements were made to the PS4S so cant compare the EC Sport to PS4S.

GRM Magazine has detailed out test data with EC Sport vs PSS and the EC Sport is quicker in the dry and substantially quicker in the wet.

With that being said, the PS4S will probably be comparable if not slightly better in the dry with close if not slightly better wet performance.

However, unless you want to run 19" sizing...best of luck on PS4S sizes. They have not announced either about more sizes.

Had a student at the track on the weekend running the new EC Sports. I was quite impressed with them. Right now, that would be my replacement for my MPSS, as I run 18" tires, and the Michelin Sport 4 seems like a step backwards. Felt like similar grip levels, maybe a slight edge to the EC Sport, but the EC Sport had better turn in and feel.

I'm not tirerack, but I think they would be similar. Contis likely a bit better in wet. Firehawks are cheaper. The main issue is you can't find the bloody firehawks anywhere!!!

OK guys, following back up on these tires. The first few days after I had them put on, I swear I thought I made a big mistake choosing these. The ride was extremely squishy and squirmy compared to the old run flats that I had on previously.
BUT after about a week, in addition to learning that I need to break them in, the tires are now outrageously amazing. It literally feels like I added sway bars even though it was only the tires. It also felt like the tires stiffened up a little bit so turn in, while not as good as the run flats for reasons we know why, is still excellent. The ride is extremely smooth and quiet. And I haven't even gotten to the point where could REALLY push the tires to their limit because there so good. Currently running them at 36psi front and 39 rear. They kind of make the limitations of the card sophomore parent. So I definitely think I need a couple more suspension upgrades.

I now understand when people say to get good tires. Keep in mind this is coming from someone who has never had the Michelin pilot super sports, so this is my only friend of reference for a high-end tire.

Hm - there's no rebate on for me, only in the US. Bastards....i'm forced to buy a set now because my current tires won't pass inspection for the BMW driving school I'm going to on the 9th...boo
