Feeler: Jet Black, Dinan Stage 3, 2008 135i for sale
My 1ers current blue book value STOCK is around $34000. THIS car is much much more than stock! It's a rare car...full stage 3 DINAN 135i. You'd be hard pressed to find another like it in the country. The mods this car has DO NOT VOID THE warranty. Any dealer, not just a DINAN dealer can repair any problems. 20K miles on it, 2.5 years/30K miles of warranty left. This car is more capable than the upcoming ///M1!!!! It has all options but navigation (6MT, black leather, winter package, satellite radio paid through September 2010) Here are the mods I've put into this beast with the attached PDF receipts: Dinan Oil cooler $1499 Dinan Oil Cooler.pdf Dinan intercooler $1799 Dinan Intercooler.pdf Dinan exhaust $1099 Dinan Exhaust.pdf Dinan Cold Air Intake $999 Dinan cold air intake.pdf Dinan stage 3 software (412HP 445TQ) $2499 Dinan Stage 3 software reciept.pdf Quaife Limited slip differential $1695 Quiafe receipt.pdf Bilstein PSS 10 coilovers (ride height and dampening adjustable) $1569 H&R sway bars front and rear $526.31 Vorshlag camber plates (adjustable to -3 degrees) $451.97 OEM BMW E92 M3 complete control arm upgrade (all 8 parts) $1037.14 Suspension upgrades - PSS10 coilovers, H&R sway bars, Vorshlag camber plates, OEM BMW E92 M3 con.pdf OEM BMW short throw shifter $553.91 OEM BMW Performance Shorter Shift Kit.pdf OEM BMW aluminum pedals $153.86 OEM BMW Complete Pedal Set.pdf And last but not least... Black Brembo big brake kit (6 piston fronts / 4 piston rears) $5242 Brembo Brakes and race pads.pdf Man, when I look at that list... 20K miles on it, 2.5 years of warranty left, $20K in mods. Please note, all pics don't have current mods. Thoughts? Asking price: $40,000 Offers? Last edited by Super Nova; 04-17-2010 at 01:25 PM.. |

Damn, nice build!
Manual or Step? Any round-about thoughts one what you'd like to get or are you strictly relying on the thoughts of the community? EDIT: Oh and do you have the stock parts?

Regardless, you have a small fortune in to very respectable mods on this beauty, which I'm sure someone with the $$ will appreciate. Bummer, but not a huge deal... Like I said, you'd definitely get more out of the car by parting out the mods and selling it stock though. Anyone that tells you that you're only going to get $32k for a car with $Texas in to mods alone is nuts. Just don't expect top-dollar (which you already seem to understand). What are you looking to get after this anyway? Seems like you're going to have to pay significantly more to get much more in the way of performance...

If you do end up parting ways, while the style and comfort aren't nearly as nice as the 135i, consider an '06-'07 STi. I would say that out of all of the cars I've owned, the 135i is a solid 10/10 on a fun-factor scale as well as a 10/10 on mod potential. The STi would come in at 9.5/10 and 8.5/10 respectively. Definitely worth considering. In the end, I'd push to hold the 135i, unless you find someone willing to give a fair price. But I totally understand the want/need to scale back for a bit.

MSRP for your car stock would be about 28k. I'd say those mods definitely add a safe 2-3k to your price (as mentioned these mods are actually *good* mods, dinan tune=keeping warranty, and the LSD). I'd say your car should be able to comfortably get 30 maybe 31k (maybe even higher with the right buyer!). GLWS!

I really have a hard time believing this car couldn't get a little more than $31k... Even taking other cars' values in to consideration, along with the fact that the car's around 2 years old w/20k miles (not high, but also not LOW), etc, it just seems to me that it should be worth more. In the end, it's only worth as much as someone's willing to pay, but I would think this is a $33k-$34k (or better) car all day... Just my $.02
Side note: I wish the parts (e.g. DME, LSD, M3 bits, etc.) were easily interchanged... I'd give you $5k for the mods and handle the swap over to my car all day. I would guess you could get $29k for a stockish car, and then still come out ahead.

At this point I feel like if I can't get a price that's solid, I'll just keep the car the way it is. I know it's a tough time for folks to pay top dollar for a modded car but it is what it is. That brembo brake upgrade alone was over $5K, let alone what it costs/takes to get an LSD into any non-M car these days now that BMW is welding the final ring gear to prevent LSD install! I'm like almost $20k into mods...with blue book value being low 30s at least, it would cost a ton to make another car handle like mine. It's already way past what the proposed M1 will perform like! In any case, next time I'm in Michigan jtsherri I gotta buy ya a beer! |

Be sure to hit me up next time. Due to the continually rotting cesspool that is Detroit, there are some places where you can get away with some ridiculous motor vehicular activities...

if your going to get $34,000 for the car anywhere this is the place. Anywhere else the mods usually hurt the value, or at least don't add anything to it.
