X1 Officially Official Per BMW
Linkie.
We would like to confirm the announcement of the BMW X1. This model is going to complement the successful X family, together with the BMW Concept X6 presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Very interesting. An X1 with the biturbo engine could be very cool indeed. I wonder if that also means that future 1ers will have AWD available as an option? Looks like 1Addicts can expect even more activity in the future. Maybe Howard wants to register X1Addicts.com, too! |

Hmmmm....what I would really like to see is an X7 to round out the X line, not an X1. So we now have Medium, Small, and really small SAV's. Where is the super sized version?

I dunno about this, but I am sure the people at BMW know more about marketing their cars and products then I do. That being said I'm sure it will end up doing well like most things BMW does.

The action these days is in the smaller SUVs, not the bigger ones. Would you really like to see a BMW version of the Escalade, rather than a sporty and useful tall wagon?

Apparently the X1 will be built in Germany by BMW and the new MINI SUV will be outsourced like the current X3. Some believe the X1 will not make it to the US Market. |

It actually could be a lot worse but BMW's design direction is going smoother, rather than more sharp as the CS Concept showed.
