This is what I have measured so far. The ones with a tilde are not exact because I measured them inaccurately on an analogue bathroom scale. The rest were measured on a digital scale.

Since I've removed the rear seat from my car, I'll dig up the pieces and weight them (as I promised to do weeks ago...). Neil |

On my 135i, the rear seat bottom (easily removed) weighs 17.2 lbs. Nice easy weight reduction for track days.

It's the entire seat. Frame, cushion, hinge etc and in the case of the m-sport seats, airbags, seatbelt pretensioner and rails too.

Those weights are all for a 1M. I purchased an entire 1M interior and sold my 135i interior. Doesn't make a difference though. They are exactly the same other than the stitching colour.

I'm planning on getting some fixed back bucket seats soon so when the 1M seats in my car currently get pulled out I'll weigh them more accurately as well as weigh the seatbelt buckle and pretensioner separately.

Sorry, I just read some of your earlier replies.
The back part of the rear seat (which is the folding section) was weighed as a whole, I.e both 60/40 split folds. But from the measurements I took, I'm quite sure it was 7.2kg for the bottom cushion and 14.5kg combined for both of the folding back cushions. This makes for a total of 21.7kg if you remove all of the rear seat cushions. When I get around to removing the rear seat belt mechanisms I'll weigh those too. And for the front seats, it's ~30kg each.

damn, i was sure that they were heavier when i took em out.. but oh well, i still lost some crazy weight in mine.. rear seats (total) - 21.7kg front seats (total) ~ 60kg makes around 80kg add a cage, cover and two carbon buckets puts it down to around 50kg

I don't remember now where I've read it but power seats add around 10 kg. or maybe even more to the base manual seats. Anyone has a clear info on this?
