Differential Compatibility

Is the open diff of an N54 6MT the same as an N55 6MT?

I recently picked up a donor open diff (3.08) from a N55 6MT and plan to swap it into my N54 6MT after installing an LSD. Will this be a direct replacement without needing to modify anything else (i.e. drive flanges, driveshaft, etc.)? It looks compatible in my limited research, but was looking for confirmation from forum members. Thanks

I have a 3.46 from an 07 n54 automatic in my 2013 6MT. Both large pumpkins. What diff are you going with? I still haven't pulled the trigger.

Wavetrac is local to me and does the machining for the welded ring gear in-house so that's who I'm going with

"SAVE10TODAY" is 10% off, I think that's the best you'll see outside of maybe Black Friday. Honestly not a bad price to begin with
