I've got a lightning cable plugged into the USB port for my girls to use with all their i-Things. Can easily repurpose, at least when I'm alone. (Upwards of 80% of the time.)

For my LG, I stuck a Nite-Ize Steelie ball on the dash trim, and a magnet on the back of the case. Holds it horizontal just below the Nav screen. The LG is funny - it'll charge off the USB, but doesn't want to communicate with the screen through it. Also has great on-board DAC's. So, I use a 2.1A 12v adapter to charge it on USB, and use the headphone jack into the Aux port for sound. Works most ( ca 95%) of the time.
Phone used to flop around a bit on the ball/socket/magnet joint. I zip-tied a 2M USB-A-to-C cable to a stereo 3.5mm cable, run up under the center console trim, and got a tiny magnetic setup to secure the cords in place on the dash - and it gives me just enough freedom to install and insert the wires, and holds the phone in one place for selecting things with one finger or following along to turn-by-turn directions. Seamless, and the only time the cords are in the way is opening up the glove box with the phone in place. (Which is a relatively rare occurrence for me, but that's where the hairbrush is. So top-down with the girls in the car, well, I try to get to the phone first.)
iPhone8 "fits" in the pouch, but is a little big.

Was able to get a berk race axle back off eBay for $250, I'd say that's a pretty good deal considering they're almost $600 brand new

Was browsing some 8Jx17 ET47 wheels from my local BMW dealer, hoping to find a good deal on a set to track with, eventually mounting them on daily summer tires and getting lighter track wheels next season.

I found this:

https://www.leebmann24.de/bmw-alufel...er-e46-z3.html

Basically Double Spoke 47 8Jx17 ET 47 for the E36, E46 and Z3 cars (same hub and bolt patterns) for a silly €66 and change per wheel....brand new!

After checking, the wheel weight is 10.1 kgs each, that is 1.5kgs lighter than the front 7.5x18 261 and almost 2.5kgs for the 8.5Jx18 rears.

May not be super light, but for a brand new factory strong wheel....and the price....think i should pull the trigger and get a set? Trying to keep wheel budget low, to save up for track time/seat time.

Your car and Apollo blend with the snow, and look ready for a white Christmas.

PS - nice donut footage. Looks like fun.

PPS - always enjoy seeing that pup.

Those look like nice, simple wheels for a great deal...I'd do it.

Im guessing the size and offsets are fine for 235/40/17s as well?

2mm wider offset per axle in the front and 5mm in the rear (261 styles are ET49 front and ET52 rears).

Should bolt on without issues right? i know as much as ET 40s can fit all round on 8-9" wheel widths fine.

No snow here in SoCal, but we do have summer tires all year long.

And wildfires...

Just received by mail from BMWNA a 10 years/156,000 miles "limited warranty extension" for the Footwell Module (FRM). Wondering if anyone else has gotten this yet?

Got one a few weeks ago. My DRL have been giving me "right/left daytime running light is out" but the left is out but right is never out. Footwell module does control the DRL so I assumed that's what it was for.

These components deliver signals to the footwell module.
Height sensors
Reversing light switch
Brake light switch
Hazard warning flasher switch
Light switch
Driver's door switch block
Door contacts in front doors
Driver's door lock
Adaptive Headlights.

Haven't received any problems yet besides the headlights. so I assume we will run into a few of them eventually.

I did. Got the same notice on the wife's Mini, which we did pay to replace the module. Going to file a reimbursement claim.

I got it. Doesn't matter much since I have the "poor man's" halogen lights. Easily replaceable with used parts. But nice to know anyway. What do you think of it?

My extended warranty for this part will expire in October, 2020 (10 years of ownership), because there's no way I'll get to 156K before then. lol

I'm currently at ~39,600 miles.

Good to have, I guess...

Dunno if I'll get to use it, though.

What is this FRM module you guys are speaking of? And where is it located? Near my gas pedal where it is vulnerable to dirt and debris?
