LEXERD Screen Protector

In my new (used) 1er I noticed today that the anti glare of the idrive screen was cloudy - apparently because the previous owner used a chemical based cleaner on it. I am surprised it is so delicate to begin with, however ......Didn't see it before I bought because it looks fine unless in direct sunlight. And it would have stopped me from buying in any event.

Elsewhere on the web I read about a guy who said he applied a cut out from a Mediadevil iPad 2 anti glare screen cover applied over an idrive screen cover with a ruined anti-glare, and said it hid the problem completely and left the screen perfectly readable. Obviously I want to try it.

Tonight I found a product, LEXERD Truevue Antiglare Screen protector cut to perfect size already for a 2012 1er.

I wondered if anyone had the same problem, or tried the LEXERD product? Or indeed had a surefire alternate solution short of replacement - which is prohibitive as far as price goes.

I am interested to know also. I think I should try it for my MKIV GTi.

Sounds like it just has oil from some kind of protectant. Just clean the screen with 303?
