New track toy
Hi All
Being new to the forum I thought I would share my story. I bought a 2005 LMB 130i E87 170,000km a couple of weeks ago with the intent of competing in some local club events, just low key as I am keen the keep the car looking generally stock. The car feels super tight and is absolutely stock it even has the original first aid kit. I entered the local BMW club sprint recently with the car as purchased with the exception of a brake fluid flush, I was blown away by how good it was, my first lap was 1:30 and my final was 1:11, that says more about the competence of the car than my driving. All this on the ‘efficiency’ front tyres, first half of the day with traction control on and the latter with it off. I was lapping 6 seconds slower than 2 other 130is that were lightly modified with experienced drivers. So the plan is to improve to improve the car along with my driving. Plan: I have bought a cheap set of BBS alloys 18x8 off set 38mm one of which was quite bent, $88 later along with $80 of rattle can spray job in gun metal grey they look pretty good. Tyres have arrived and due to be fitted on Mon (335/40/8). The wheels came with an old set of 335s on which gave me the chance to try them out, fronts were super tight and scuffed the arch on the left. Next job Camber pins 335i caliper, discs, braided hoses and maybe master cyl Racing harness? Coilovers Interior tidy up Spare key Fun times ahead! Last edited by Age1000; 03-09-2018 at 05:40 AM.. |
