First gear
Hey guys
I've installed a Bmw SSK and modified the CDV (zeckenhausen) But letting go of the clutch slowly into first gear, while slowly accelerating at the same time does NOT equal a smooth shift. Shift is jerky and annoying.. I hate first gear so much that I do everything I can to transition into second... Should I try a different transmission fluid? Only 20k miles!!

I have the BMW SSK and have not experienced this. But, being in 1st gear for such a short time maybe I haven't noticed it. I don't have the CDV delete. My SSK was a direct replacement for the stock shifter. No issues I'm aware of.

I don't mean moving the shifter
I mean the clutch feels jerky in first gear

Sounds like you STILL have a CDV. I would either bypass the cdv or take a 3mm punch or small flat blade screw driver and knock out the restrictor inside the CDV. I bet you still have a restrictor inside the CDV.

Does it feel like the car is being tugged by a large bungee cord? I get the same feeling occasionally when the car is cold and I have removed the CDV. Mine seems to smooth out after a couple minutes of driving. I've always assumed it was the DMFW. Unlike the CDV, it goes away when the car is warm. My buddy's E92 M3 does the same thing, again when cold, but it's so bad it makes your head snap back and forth like that SNL skit Night at the Roxbury.

Dack
Is it possible not bleeding the clutch 100% can result in jerkiness?
